• Doe Bay Wine Company - This company offers a collection of wines under the ‘The Orcas Project’ brand. The Orcas Project is a partnership between renowned winemakers and vineyards in the Pacific Northwest, with labels crafted by artists from Orcas Island. These wines are produced in limited quantities and can be enjoyed at the tasting room in Eastsound. Since its opening in August 2017, the company has been highlighted in publications such as Food & Wine, Seattle Magazine, and The New York Times. The atmosphere is lively and enjoyable! During this experience, guests will be guided through a tasting of four wines, with insights into the vineyards and the history of the project.

Meet our hosts!

Cole S.: Hailing from Orcas Island, Cole imparts his Sommelier expertise from his tenure at esteemed establishments including RN74 Seattle and the Bellagio Resort’s Michael Mina in Las Vegas.

Rachel: Originally from Idaho, Rachel seamlessly integrated into with the island community several years ago. With a passion for Northwest wines and past experience as a tasting room manager at Long Shadows Winery, Rachel is adept at guiding wine connoisseurs based on their preferences!

Kai: A seasoned professional in the wine industry, Kai’s fascination with vineyards started in France and expanded globally. Born and raised on the East Coast, he eventually settled on the island, where he honed his expertise on old-world wines at Roses.

Cole R.: Recently relocated to the island with his girlfriend (who is a local), Cole R. brings his enriching exposure from sommelier classes and an internship at a California winery. Aside from wine, he has a penchant for gardening and matcha!

Shiloah: A long-term resident of Orcas, Shiloah is also part of the team at the award-winning Matia Restaurant. She is an invaluable resource for local insights about Orcas!
