I am handicapped and was unsure if I would be able to get into the carriage. When we arrived, they took me aside to where they had a ladder and carriage for me to attempt to board out of sight of the public. I could get on the carriage and even though it took me longer to board, never did I feel rushed. They also offered to refund my ticket, if I couldn't board. The guide was knowledgeable, made history fun and took time to answer all of our questions. He related well to all ages (5-70) on the carriage. You also can't beat their policy of a refund of your ticket cost (plus a free tour) if they miss a starting time and you checked in at least 30 minutes early. If I ever get back to Charleston, I hope to take more of their tours!
The tour covered some historic homes and the market, but not much of other historic buildings.
I was on the 9:30 AM tour. Our tour guide was great during the tour but he was very curt and not very helpful before the tour. We showed up at 8:55 as we were supposed to check in 30 minutes before the tour. He was initially very curt with us and said that we were five minutes early and that he'd load up by the ladder. I wasn't sure if I still had to check in or not after 9 AM. Around 9:20 I went over to the wagon and asked him if I had to check in. He said that he'd be over by the ladder shortly. He wasn't very friendly or helpful before the tour. He totally changed into a decent tour guide during the tour. He needs help in his customer service skills. I wouldn't recommend Classic Carriage because if our initial experience with the guide.
The tour was very enjoyable and the guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We learned a lot and had a great time!
Informative and entertaining tour. Our guide had a good sence of humour. Well paced, loved berry.
Great service by guide & gave knowledgable history
Tour guide was excellent, was very happy with all of it!
Good ride and tour. Friendly, informative driver. Satisfied with the ride
Hal & Larry were a great team! Kept the guest engaged & entertained.
Didn't get the history and depth on the tour we had anticipated. We still had a great time though!
John was outstanding
Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and a great rapport with our beautiful horse. She has a genuine love of Charleston and made our carriage ride unforgettable!
We had a great tour on a hot July morning! Our driver (and I'm forgetting her name) was so knowledgeable about Charleston history, which gave us a great flavor for the city. The tour was an hour and covered a section of the city. I'd love to go again and see a different part of the city!
Overall we were very happy with the tour and our tour guide Ginger was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We were also happy to hear about how well the horses are cared for. One small issue that bothered was that we were asked to check in at 9:00 am and then had to wait outside until 9:25. Twenty five minutes, with three children at that hour is precious and our "breakfast" time could have been better used.
Our tour guide was absolutely amazing! Second time we have taken a carriage ride, but this time was so intriguing and educational.
Would have loved for it to be longer, maybe an hour and a half.
The route we went on didn't really show much of the city although the carriage driver was very good
Early bird tour a bit disorganized tour guy pretty good but didn't feel like he really enjoys his job more like a duty that's the vibe Of course we got the tour of outside the city thank goodness we took a walking tour the next day. I know it's by lottery but the next day that tour went the same way???
Very knowledgeable and personable guide. Great way to learn about Charleston.
