Nestled in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains, this temple and tower complex is a testament to the brilliance of ancient Cham architecture.

My Son originally comprised 70 architectural structures, ranging from small to large buildings. It served as the sacred land for the Cham people from the 4th to the 13th century, primarily dedicated to the deities Shiva, Krishna, and Vishnu. Today, only about 20 temples remain, as the site suffered destruction during the war.

In the 4th century, during King Bhadravarman’s reign, after the construction of Tra Kieu, My Son became the religious center of the Cham kingdom, hosting royal members, aristocrats, and significant religious ceremonies.

Evolving over nearly nine centuries, My Son witnessed both the flourishing and the decline of the Champa Kingdom. Despite the fall of the kingdom, Cham culture continues to endure.

Early Morning Tour to Avoid Crowds & Beat the Heat:

– 7:10 AM: Arrival at My Son, followed by a short buggy ride and walk to the sites.

– 7:30 – 9:00 AM: A knowledgeable English-speaking tour guide will lead you through the various groups from B, C, D, A, G to E & F, providing insightful information about the history, Cham people, Cham culture, and the Cham Kingdom.

– 10:20 AM: Return to your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang.

Afternoon Tour:

– 1:00 PM: Departure from your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang city.

– 2:15 PM: Arrival at My Son, followed by a short buggy ride and walk to the sites.

– 2:45 – 3:15 PM: A knowledgeable English-speaking tour guide will lead you through the various groups from B, C, D, A, G to E & F, providing insightful information about the history, Cham people, Cham culture, and the Cham Kingdom.

– 5:20 PM: Return to your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang.
