History of My Son:

Nestling in a narrow valley surrounded by mountains, this temple and tower complex is a masterpiece of ancient Cham architecture.

My Son consisted of 70 architectural works ranging from small to large buildings. My Son was the holy land of Cham people from the 4th to 13th century, dedicated mostly to the deities Shiva, Krishma and Vishnu. Today only about 20 temples remain due to destruction of the site during the war.

In the 4th century, in King Bhadravarman’s time, after the construction of TraKieu, the religious centre of Cham kingdom was centred in My Son, and the site was used to welcome royal members, aristocrats and host important religious rituals.

Continually developing over nearly nine centuries, My Son witnessed both the glorious and prosperous period of the Champa Kingdom as well as the Kingdom’s decline.Despite the fall of the Champa Kingdom,the Cham culture continues to survive.

TOUR PROGRAM:

7:30 a.m: Pick-up from your hotel in Hoi An or Da Nang city.

8:30 a.m: Arrive at My Son just as the gates open for tourists. Access the site using the provided electric cars and enjoy a short walk from the drop-off point to the sites.

8:45 – 10:15 a.m: Explore the various areas of the temple and tower complex. Our knowledgeable guides will provide you with a deep understanding of the site’s extensive history and spiritual significance. Your guide will also point out the best spots for taking photos. Afterward, we will drive for about 40 minutes to Boat Harbour to board a private boat.

Enjoy a 50-minute boat ride along the Thu Bon River, offering a great opportunity to capture beautiful photos.

Next, we will stop at Thanh Ha Pottery Village. Our guide will take you around the village to observe the local daily life, visit a typical family to learn pottery-making, and pick up some souvenirs to take home.

Conclude your trip as we return you to your hotel.
