- Ananuri Fortified Castle Ensemble - Ananuri Castle is one of Georgia’s most stunning sites, surrounded by beautiful nature and rich history. It holds a significant place among Georgian architectural landmarks. Since 2007, Ananuri Castle has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located in the Aragvi Valley near the Jinvali Reservoir on the Georgian Military Road, Ananuri Castle was constructed between 1660 and 1676 by the Dukes of Aragvi. It served as the residence of the Aragvi Dukes. The castle has witnessed numerous battles, with visible traces of wars. The fortress comprises upper and lower castles; the upper castle is the main structure and is better preserved, while the lower castle is mostly in ruins. The oldest building is the Khevsuruli Tower, situated inside the upper castle. It features four floors and is tall and narrow, similar to towers built in Georgia’s high mountain regions.
- Gudauri - Gudauri is a contemporary ski resort in Georgia, ideal for enthusiasts of extreme sports. It is located on the main range of the Caucasus, along the Georgian Military Road. From November to May, Gudauri enjoys a stable snow cover, with an average snow depth of 1.5 meters. Despite its elevation of 2000 meters above sea level, the weather is warm and sunny. Gudauri is also appealing in summer, offering various tourism activities such as hiking in the Truso and Khada Valleys, horse riding, and rafting on the Aragvi River.
- Russian Georgian Friendship Monument - The Friendship Monument is situated on the military road en route to Kazbegi. Although built in the 1980s and showing signs of wear, the views from the balconies are unparalleled. The Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument, also known as the Treaty of Georgievsk Monument, was erected in 1983 to commemorate the bicentennial of the Treaty of Georgievsk and the ongoing friendship between Georgia and Soviet Russia. Positioned between the ski resort town of Gudauri and the Jvari Pass, the monument is a large circular stone and concrete structure overlooking the Devil’s Valley in the Caucasus Mountains. Inside, a vast tile mural encircles the structure, depicting scenes from Georgian and Russian history.
- Stepantsminda - Stepantsminda, formerly known as Kazbegi, is a village in northern Georgia renowned for its trekking opportunities in the breathtaking surrounding mountains, its views of the majestic Mount Kazbek, and the stunning vista of the Holy Trinity Church silhouetted against Mount Kazbek. Kazbegi is celebrated for its picturesque location in the Greater Caucasus Mountains and serves as a hub for trekkers and mountain climbers.
- Gergeti Trinity Church - Gergeti Trinity Church is located on the right bank of the Chkheri River (a left tributary of the Terek River), at an elevation of 2170 meters, beneath Mount Kazbegi. The church is a popular stop for trekkers in the region and can be reached by a steep three-hour climb up the mountain or a 30-minute jeep ride along a rugged mountain trail. Built in the 14th century, Gergeti Trinity Church is the only cross-cupola church in the Khevi province. The separate bell tower dates from the same period as the church. Its remote location atop a steep mountain, surrounded by vast nature, has made it a symbol of Georgia. The 18th-century Georgian author Vakhushti Batonishvili noted that in times of danger, precious relics from Mtskheta, including Saint Nino’s Cross, were brought here for safekeeping. During the Soviet era, all religious services were banned, yet the church remained a popular tourist attraction.
