Located roughly 60 kilometers from Tajikistan’s capital, Dushanbe, is the historical and natural Shirkent Park, well-known for its ancient attractions, such as dinosaur tracks. Shirkent principally gets recognition for fossilized dinosaur footprints. The creature that left these footprints is assigned a new genus and species, Macropodasaurusgravis, as their five-toed dinosaur footprints are unparalleled globally. In the republic, eight locations featuring dinosaur footprints have been noted, with three situated in the Shirkent River gorge mountains. The non-living nature monument consists of around 50 exceptional objects, including geological, hydrological, and glaciological. Of high importance are the three separate age locations of dinosaur footprints, with total footprints from extinct reptiles exceeding 400. Visitors have a variety of trail options to select from, and for mountaineers, untouched snow-capped peaks are awaiting.
