The park is a vast protected area along South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal Province coast. Its centerpiece, Lake St. Lucia, is home to numerous hippos, crocodiles, pelicans, and flamingos. Elephants, giraffes, and leopards roam the grasslands and forests of the nearby Western Shores and Charters Creek areas.
After breakfast, embark on a game drive at St Lucia Game Reserve to observe various animals in their natural habitat, including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, rhinoceros, zebras, kudus, and more.

Isimangaliso Wetlands Park to Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve
Hluhluwe Game Reserve - Day 3 marks the start of a 2-day tour of Hluhluwe–Imfolozi Game Reserve, Africa’s oldest proclaimed nature reserve. Spanning 960 km² of hilly terrain, it is renowned for its rich wildlife and conservation efforts. It is home to the famous Big 5 and numerous other animals, birds, and plant species.
Upon arrival at Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve, check into the Hilltop Ezenvelo Camp Resort located within the reserve. After check-in, immediately embark on a game drive.

Tala Private Game Reserve - After breakfast, enjoy a game drive in Tala Private Game Reserve in a 4x4 open vehicle. Tala Game Reserve covers approximately 3,000 hectares, featuring a mix of acacia thornveld, open grassland, and a sensitive wetland that attracts over 380 bird species and plenty of big game, including rhinoceros, kudu, hippo, giraffe, wildebeest, eland, and more. Being malaria-free and without large predators, Tala is an excellent choice for families and holidaymakers seeking an authentic bush experience with the freedom to explore. After the game drive, depart from Tala Private Game Reserve and head to Howick Falls.
Howick Falls - Howick Falls is a waterfall located in Howick, KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. The waterfall is approximately 95 meters high and is situated on the Umgeni River.
Nelson Mandela Capture Site - From Howick Falls, proceed to the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, a short distance away. Nelson Mandela was arrested on August 5, 1962, outside Howick, KZN Natal, South Africa, and spent the next 27 years in prison. The Nelson Mandela Capture Site commemorates this historical moment with a museum and a renowned sculpture.
Drakensberg Mountains - From Howick Falls, continue to the Drakensberg Mountains, driving through the Midlands Meander area. The Midlands Meander is a picturesque region in KwaZulu Natal, stretching from just beyond Mooi River in the north, Hilton in the south, Karkloof in the east, and the foothills of the Drakensberg in the west, featuring beautiful hills and valleys.

Drakensberg Mountains - Day 6 is a full-day tour of the Drakensberg Mountains. After breakfast, embark on a hiking tour to explore the mountains. The Drakensberg region is extraordinary, with its dramatically beautiful setting. This region is home to the awe-inspiring mountain range, predominantly located in the KwaZulu Natal Province. The Drakensberg Mountain range spans over 200 kilometers, combining rugged peaks with verdant valleys and spectacular backdrops. It forms a natural border between the kingdom of Lesotho and the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Enjoy the bush at the mountains, encountering various plants, flowers, insects, and wildlife. Visit some ancient bushmen paintings in the mountains.

Drakensberg Mountains - In the morning, after breakfast, continue the tour of the Drakensberg. Depart and return to Durban for drop-off at hotels, the airport, and the port, arriving late in the afternoon around 6pm to conclude this memorable tour.
