• Durban - [Please be aware that passports are necessary for this tour as it involves crossing the border from South Africa into Lesotho. Visitors from certain countries may need a visa. Kindly verify with the embassy if a visa is required to enter Lesotho.]

Guests will be picked up from their accommodation in Durban, and we will depart in a shared vehicle for a 2-hour, 30-minute journey to Underberg. Note: Pick-up begins 30 minutes prior to departure.

• Underberg - Upon arrival in Underberg, we will transfer to a shared 4x4 vehicle to travel to Sani Pass. The 4x4 vehicle accommodates up to 10 passengers.
• Sani Pass - The journey along Sani Pass will mostly be on a gravel and rocky road, offering a unique experience.

We will pause at stunning viewpoints along the route, showcasing scenic landscapes and mountains, including the Twelve Apostles. Witness freshwater and frozen streams, diverse vegetation, and local wildlife. We will pass through two border posts, South Africa and Lesotho, allowing guests the unique chance to take a brief walk across the border. At this point, we will reach an altitude of 2873 meters. Please bring a warm jacket as temperatures drop with altitude.

Upon entering Lesotho, the road transitions to a smoother, paved surface. We will visit a village of the Basotho people to learn about their culture. Guests can visit a traditional hut to hear stories about their lives and sample freshly baked pot bread, which is available for purchase. Other souvenirs such as handmade jewelry, hats, scarves, and memorabilia can also be bought. Please bring cash if you wish to purchase items from the locals. ZAR currency is accepted in Lesotho. Your tour guide/driver will teach you basic Sotho greetings and expressions of gratitude. After the orientation tour in the hut, a group of men and women will perform traditional singing and dancing.

An optional lunch and refreshments can be enjoyed at the Highest Pub in Africa, a restaurant and bar located at the Lesotho border. Please bring cash in ZAR for lunch (A-La-Carte menu ranging from R55.00 to R150.00 per person).

• Underberg - Upon returning to Underberg, you will meet your guide/driver at the vehicle for the shared return transfer to Durban, which will take 2 hours and 30 minutes.
• Durban - Upon arrival in Durban, you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

The Sani Pass, historically known as the bridal path of the Basotho tribe, was a route to transport their commodities between the Lesotho highlands and KwaZulu-Natal. Today, this path presents travelers with the thrilling opportunity to navigate to a height of 2873 meters above sea level in a 4x4 vehicle.
