• Durban - Guests will be picked up from their accommodation in Durban between 7:00 and 8:00 am. The journey to Natal Lion Park near Pietermaritzburg will take approximately one hour. The drive offers a scenic view of lush sugar cane fields and stunning landscapes. The tour guide/driver will provide engaging stories and insights about the region. There will be an optional stop for restrooms and refreshments along the way.
• Natal Lion Park - Upon arrival at Natal Lion Park, the tour will proceed into the Lion’s enclosure to observe a pride of lions. [Please ensure vehicle doors are locked and windows remain closed at all times while inside the Lion’s enclosure. Photos can be taken through the closed vehicle windows.]
• African Bird of Prey Sanctuary - The tour continues to the Birds of Prey Sanctuary, where guests will see eagles, hawks, owls, and falcons at the African Raptor Centre. [Please avoid standing too close to the fence, especially near the vultures.] The sanctuary boasts the largest collection of indigenous raptors in southern Africa.
• Tala Private Game Reserve - The next destination is Tala Private Game Reserve for a malaria-free safari. Upon arrival, guests will embark on an exhilarating game drive in an open 4x4 game truck. The reserve is home to 380 bird species and animals such as kudu, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, wildebeest, eland, zebra, and rhino. Tala spans 3000 hectares of acacia thornveld, open grassland, and sensitive wetland, offering a quick way to see free-roaming wildlife.
