Durban to Port St Johns starting with Durban Mini City Tour
Durban - The tour begins with a mini tour of Durban, visiting:
- Moses Mabhida Stadium - Known for its iconic arch, this stadium is an engineering marvel and a hub for adventure.
- Ushaka Village Walk - An open-air shopping experience offering entertainment, family fun, shopping, and dining.
- Victoria Market - This market offers a variety of African traditional jewelry, clothing, art, and decor, along with a wide range of Indian spices. It blends Indian and African cultures with over 170 stalls, creating a traditional bazaar-like atmosphere.
Margate - After the mini city tour, the journey continues along the south coast, with the first stop at Margate, a major coastal resort. Here, a brief stop allows for a short stroll to the beach.
Port Edward - From Margate, the tour proceeds along the south coast to Port Edward, another beautiful coastal resort. This is where lunch is enjoyed, with stunning ocean views, playful dolphins, occasional whales, and a busy sea traffic lane in the background. The clean beach and relaxing waves make even a short visit memorable.
Wild Coast - From Port Edward, the tour heads inland through Bizana and Lusikisiki, encountering many traditional African villages.

Port St Johns to East London
Wild Coast - On day 2, after breakfast, the nearby beach at Port St Johns is visited. The tour then continues along the Wild Coast, heading inland past Umthatha en route to East London.
East London - The journey along the Wild Coast eventually leads to East London, where the second night is spent. East London is a city on the Indian Ocean in South Africa’s Eastern Cape, known for its beaches like Nahoon and Cove Rock.
East London to Port Elizabeth
Port Alfred - Departing from East London after breakfast on day 3, the tour heads to Port Alfred, marking the beginning of the Garden Route. Port Alfred is a beautiful coastal town with sandy beaches. A stopover includes a visit to Kelly’s Beach and lunch in Port Alfred before proceeding to Port Elizabeth for the third night.
Port Elizabeth - Located on the Indian Ocean coast, halfway between Cape Town and Durban in the Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth (PE) boasts stunning beaches, interesting museums, award-winning wildlife destinations, and some of the friendliest people in the country. It’s affectionately known as the “Friendly City.”
Port Elizabeth to Plettenberg Bay via Tsitsikamma National Park area
Tsitsikamma National Park - Departing from Port Elizabeth after breakfast on day 4, the route passes through the Tsitsikamma National Park area, known for its lush vegetation.
Bloukrans Bridge - Along the route in the Tsitsikamma area is the Bloukrans Bridge, offering the world’s highest bungee jump. This activity is an optional extra. At 216m, it is the highest commercial bridge bungee jump globally, attracting adventure seekers worldwide.
Plettenberg Bay - From the Bloukrans Bridge, the tour continues to Plettenberg Bay, a short distance away. Known as ‘Plett,’ this resort town features mountains, white sand, and crystal-blue water, making it a top local tourist spot. The scenery to the east is particularly superb, with some of the best coast and indigenous forest in South Africa. Upon arrival, visitors are free to explore the beaches and Plett, spending the night here.
Plettenberg Bay to Knysna
Knysna - With numerous attractions, Knysna is a top holiday destination on the Garden Route, South Africa. Families create memories, and adventure seekers find thrills with various outdoor experiences. Discover sandy beaches, forest trails, and rich cultural heritage, making Knysna a must-visit location in the Western Cape.
Knysna Heads - In Knysna, the Knysna Heads are a must-see! The view is breathtaking and unforgettable. These sandstone cliffs separate the Knysna Lagoon from the sea beyond.
The Waterfront Knysna Quays - The Waterfront Knysna Quays is a relaxed extension of Knysna, offering a scenic harbor view with numerous yachts. It’s a beautiful setting with many restaurants and cafes. Visitors can easily spend 3 to 4 hours here, enjoying lunch, sipping wine, watching boat cruises, and enjoying the sunset.
Knysna to Hermanus
Mossel Bay - Departing from Knysna after breakfast on day 6, the first stop is Mossel Bay, a harbor town on the Garden Route. Known for wide Santos Beach and the 19th-century Cape St. Blaize Lighthouse, which offers bay views, the town is explored for about an hour before continuing the tour.
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate - From Mossel Bay, the journey continues to Benguela Cove Wine Estate, where world-class wine tasting of five leading South African wines is experienced.
Hermanus - From Benguela Cove Wine Estate, a short drive leads to Hermanus, where the final night of the tour is spent.
Hermanus to Cape Town
Hermanus - After breakfast, there is time to explore Hermanus. During the season, whale watching by the sea is possible. A boat trip for whale watching is an optional extra. Visitors can also enjoy some of Hermanus’s finest beaches before embarking on the final leg of the tour to Cape Town.
Cape Town - From Hermanus, the journey continues along a route with extraordinary views and scenery, passing Gordons Bay until reaching Cape Town, the final destination, around 6 pm, concluding the wonderful tour.
