• Sipan - As the largest island of the archipelago, Sipan covers an area of 15.5 sq km (6 sq miles) and stretches 9 km (5.6 miles) in length. It is home to 410 permanent residents. Sipan’s history dates back to at least the 1370s, when its name first appeared in historical records. Sudurad, the second largest town on the island, is located in the southeast. Known as the “gold island” due to its olive oil production and the pure yellow color of its olive oil, Sipan also features numerous vineyards and wine-tasting shops, offering fascinating stories that bring its history to life.
