Lazareti - kreativna četvrt Dubrovnika - Lazareti in Dubrovnik is a long, narrow structure with 10 naves separated by five courtyards, all enclosed by high walls. Completed in 1647, it served as a quarantine station during outbreaks of plague and cholera, reflecting a somber history.
Located near the Ploce Gate, Lazareti was constructed between 1627 and 1647. Its strategic location, in front of the main entrance to the Town and near the Old Port, the main city harbor, made it ideal for such a facility. Merchants, sailors, and travelers underwent mandatory isolation for 40 days before entering the City.
