While not all are accessible or large enough to enter, the views and the skipper’s tales about them are sure to captivate you. These caves are like hidden sea temples. Next, we will head to the Blue Cave, where you’ll understand the origin of its name as the sunlight reflects off the water, creating an extraordinary blue hue. It’s so enchanting that many feel compelled to dive right in. Following this, we’ll explore the three Green Caves, where the turquoise and green shades beautifully merge as the waves ripple. These spots are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and capturing memories with a complimentary GoPro camera.
- Lopud - Our next destination is the island of Lopud, once home to two monasteries, thirty churches, and several noble palaces, though only remnants of this grand past remain. If desired, a reservation can be made at one of the finest local restaurants offering freshly caught fish. Lopud is a car-free island featuring two expansive sandy beaches. One is located in the main village, while the other, the stunning Šunj beach, is on the island’s south side, nestled in a picturesque bay surrounded by trees.
- Lokrum Island - On our return journey to the Old Town, we’ll stop by the Betina Cave, accessible only by sea. Inside, there’s a lovely pebbly beach, and since it faces southeast, it remains cooler in the afternoon when it’s entirely shaded. We’ll anchor in front, allowing you to swim, snorkel, take photos, or even cliff jump if you’re feeling adventurous.
Directly across from Betina Cave, on Lokrum Island, we’ll visit Dubrovnik’s largest cave, known as Pidgeon’s Cave. This secluded cave, located on the island’s outer side, has an entrance surrounded by steep rocks and Mediterranean greenery. You can imagine how the powerful waves have sculpted this natural marvel over thousands of years. We hope this tour leaves you with wonderful memories and new experiences. Please note that walking on Lokrum Island is not part of this tour.
