Absolutely beautiful cathedral - I love a good cathedral and have visited many. I have to say this cathedral was one of my favourites ever. It was absolutely beautiful. Ornate with the most beautiful tiled floors. Really interesting crypt. I liked the fact that it was all so accessible as often cathedrals have many areas sectioned off, not here. There was lots of places to sit and take in the beautiful surroundings whilst listening to the great audio guide that you can access easily on your mobile. We were also lucky enough to hear the organ playing. A truly great visit if you love cathedrals like me. Thank you

Excellent! - It was fantastic. Visiting very old places, which you have only heard of, read about or seen in movies, is something that makes me happy. In addition to reading the descriptions about the place, it also takes your imagination to work, how it would be, who was there, how they were dressed, etc. Try to combine the past and present in your imagination!

Great church - This old church is really cool. It does have some construction going on. The stained glass is great. The crypt is very cool. The cat and rat story is interesting. It’s really a great church.

Interesting History and Good Audio Guide - We were a bit hesitant at first because the paid admission of 12 Euros is pretty high for a church but we enjoyed our visit here and learning about the history inside and outside of the church. The audio guide is included in the admission price but it is best to download the application once you scan the barcode for the best experience. The audio guide is available in multiple languages and there are three options to enjoy your visit which include Power & Politics, Christ Church & the City, and Music & Spirituality. There are some interesting things to see inside like Strongbow's Tomb, the old floor tiles, the cannonball, and the cat and the rat. With the audio guide you will learn about the choir, Handel's Messiah and many other interesting items about the church and the history. Outside of the church to the northwest there is a Viking Area which shows an outline of a Viking House and some archeological finds. To the east there is the homeless Jesus statue and some items to commemorate Neale's Musick Hall which is where Handel's Messiah was first performed. The crypt is worth checking out too because you will learn about the ancient history of the church. There is a nice gift shop with reasonably priced souvenirs and a few toilets in the crypt area. There are some old Irish clothes you can try on as well down there for some unique photo opportunities. Plan to spend about 1 hour in Christ Church Cathedral and a bit more time walking around the area. The pedway connects the cathedral to another building of the church which houses the Dublinia Museum but this is a separate ticket. St. Patrick's Cathedral is nearby and the Temple Bar and Dublin Castle areas are also very close.

Must-see tiles - It's a large and impressive cathedral and worth exploring. A couple of things stood out for me. One was that the west window was not the 'usual' rose window deign, but a set of elogated perpendicular windows. The glass in those window was stuning. The second feature is teh tiled floor. Intricate and complex as well as being colourful. Impressive.
