Disappointing New Year’s Eve Boat Tour – Description Did Not Match Reality - We booked a New Year’s Eve boat tour to the Burj Khalifa to watch the midnight fireworks from the water. Unfortunately, the experience did not match the tour description in several important aspects.
According to the booking information, elegant attire was required. We followed this guideline; however, once on board, the dress code appeared to be unenforced. Guests were dressed very differently, ranging from tuxedos to jeans and flip-flops, making the dress requirement seem misleading in hindsight.
The overall condition and atmosphere on board the Cleopatra also did not meet expectations. The seating consisted of plastic chairs, older tables, and plastic cups, and the boat had a rather basic appearance. This did not align with the stated dress code or the premium price level.
Additionally, the boat was very crowded. We were asked to sit as a couple at an already occupied four-person table. Throughout the evening, guests were repeatedly asked to move to different areas of the boat, apparently to redistribute weight. This created an unsettled atmosphere.
Later in the evening, we were assigned a table in the middle of the boat after it became clear that six people could not dine at one table at the same time. At this central table, all passengers seated in the bow area had to pass directly by us on their way to and from the buffet, frequently squeezing through the narrow space around the table. This significantly reduced comfort during the evening.
Another issue concerned the beverages. According to our TripAdvisor voucher (approximately €300 per person), all non-alcoholic drinks were included. In reality, only water, cola, and Sprite were available. Juices and non-alcoholic cocktails were offered at an additional charge, which did not match the booking description.
The fireworks themselves were very nice; however, they could also be enjoyed from many other locations in Dubai. As such, the added value of this boat tour was limited for us.

Waste of time and money - Not worth your time or money. Employees are very nice but it was a cheap experience. No alcohol even though it advertised that it was available for purchase. You ride a boat for 2 hours to see the fireworks from a far distance so it’s not close at all so I watched the drone show instead because at least you could see that clearly. The fireworks were exactly 9 minutes long so then you spend another 2 hours back to port. Very disappointing.

EMAAR New Year's Eve 2026 at Burj Park, Downtown Dubai – Extremely Disappointing (Tickets via Platinumlist App & Platfor - Zero star experience. Paid a fortnight’s wage (AUD $1,878.30) for a family of four, only to face overpriced food and drinks, dull entertainment (felt like celebrating NYE in India), and chaotic entry and exit. Our online tickets weren’t accepted, and we had to locate an area in Dubai Mall just to get wristbands before being allowed in—an extra hassle and cost. On the night, to get to the event, staff repeatedly sent us in circles, and there was no shuttle service to help guests get to and from the venue. While waiting for the fireworks, many other attendees expressed the same frustration. Overall, not worth the cost or the hype.

One of the worst dhow tours on the Creek - If it hadn't been for the beautiful fireworks at Burj Khalifa, the whole event would have been a disaster. I will never book such an excursion with this provider again. We were aware that there was no alcohol and no problem either. However, the travel booking stated unlimited soft drinks. Immediately after our arrival, a waiter came to the table who wanted to sell us orange juice and similar drinks for a fee. After a long discussion, he simply did not come to our table. It turned out that later for dinner Coke / Fanta / Sprite was available "unlimited free". This did NOT correspond to the information on our written booking confirmation. Furthermore, the journey should be acc. Start booking at 9pm. The boat didn't leave until 10 p.m. Musical entertainment was a complete disaster. Whether it was local Arabic music or international pop or mood music - the songs were just alluded to in confusion, in some cases there was no music at all on the boat - and that at New Year's Eve. On all the other boats that were riding along, great party music could only not be heard with us. The buffet on offer was by no means an international buffet special as described on the booking documents, it was at most a mediocre regional buffet - and that at New Year's Eve. Some guests didn't eat anything. Then the boat arrived on time to admire the fireworks. Afterwards we went back to the starting point. There was still some "culture", a local Arab dancer wanted to give a small performance with his illuminated coat (as they are known from the Arab world). This was interrupted several times by aborting the music - you could feel sorry for the guy. He tried to get the guests to clap along to at least spread some party spirit. It was in vain, he then stopped his performance due to a lack of music. I have to say, we were really looking forward to New Year's Eve in Dubai and were really disappointed with this dhow tour on the Creek. We paid over 600,-€ for this disastrous tour with some coke, non-alcoholic sparkling wine, water and mediocre food - not Dirham !!! and felt quite cheated. Another info about the boat: We took the Cleopatra 2 - also this was probably the worst boat of all who went to the fireworks at Burj Khalifa. Fortunately, the view of the fireworks compensated us somewhat. As a result, I can only say: Hands off this boat and from this booking agency or from the agency of the boat operator.

Never again - This was an extremely miserable experience. I would not advise anyone to go on that cruise even if it were free.
We paid $700.00 for 2 people to go on a dinner cruise in Dubai on 12/31/2025 to witness the famous Dubai Burj Khalifa fire works.
After running from one boat to the next to identify our boat “7 stars”, met at every boat by some unprofessional and unhelpful staff, we finally found the boat but they did not have our names on their list, they found our names on a different boat called Cleopatra 2.
Finally, on the boat we found our selves seated at a shabby, wobbly table with very uncomfortable seats, inches away from the food service station. Staff were extremely obnoxious unhelpful.
When it came to dinner time, we were told we had to wait until guests from the other end of the boat get their fill; we had to content with tens of people squees by our table, their buts literally brushing against our shoulders.
The food was of horrible quality and we did not eat, especially with a server who insisted on serving the every person the meat or the fish, we did not have either since she was loud and spitting all over the food.
All this misery would have been forgiven if we were given a good show, but that did not happen either. We were taken to some spot on the Dubai Creek, bout far enough from Burj Khalifa that we would have had a better view from our hotel balcony. We and other guests kept turning around to catch a glimpse of fireworks show but were never able to see something that resembles a show.
We believe we were victims of false in advertising and believe we are entitled to a refund of our money. We have travelled from the USA to DUBAI, specifically to witness the famous fire works at Burj Khalifa.
Awaiting a response,
Gamal Diab

Dire. - I do not recommend it at all, the boat was the worst certainly compared to the others. They offer juice upon arrival without specifying that it did not fall within what was already paid, when drinks were supposed to enter, and then charge 75 dhr for each juice. Everybody's tight. Tables and everything very crappy. Sorry I don't like to post negative reviews but I have to be honest with the money we paid for what was really. You couldn't see the burj Khalifa well pq people standing and they wouldn't allow the fires to be seen. Nothing a real mess. They didn't even have blankets to cover up with the cold q's.

Horrible boat trip on New Year's Eve in Dubai - We had been looking forward to a nice New Year's Eve in Dubai, but that's one of the most broken things I've ever seen. For kr 5000,- per pers we came over booked boat , that we had to sit still all the way because of if we were to stand let the boat over to the side . Uncomfortable. Camping tables and chairs , water and drink and a horrible food , dry and cold . When we begged to ask questions about the trip before we went from kai ang the list we had ordered and what we had been promised , there was chaos and the boat drove quickly from kai before we got the opportunity to go on land and did not answer any questions . Was also promised bill to Burakalifa 👍👍👍👍rein scam. After halfway walk only 1 toilet worked, hygiene very poor on the whole boat
Boring to throw $15,000 straight out without any excuse or explanation. Disappointing Dubai such players should not be allowed to destroy
