A well-paced food tour - My husband and I enjoyed an excellent evening with Sandy. The tour was well passed and the food experiences delicious. We took in sights on both sides of Old Dubai including an abra river crossing. It was most interesting to learn about his life in Dubai as an ex-pat. Meet-up worked perfectly at the metro station which forced us to experience the excellent Dubai metro system.

Delightful Discovery of Dubai Cuisine - Sandy was an outstanding guide for my husband and myself!! I can't have been happier to have selected him. Our experience felt so authentic and 'local'. Not only did we learn about the food culture, but we learned so much about Dubai (living in Dubai, the government, the people, etc.)!! It was so fascinating. Sandy took us to several places to try local cuisine, telling us that some of the meanings of the restaurants are houses, as that's what they originated as. While I avoid fish at all costs, Sandy encouraged me to at least try the dip that arrived with the thin crepe-like bread/egg. I was floored because I actually enjoyed it! We took a tiny taxi boat (like a local) to the other side of the river where we enjoyed some mezze on top of the sea (you could literally see through the glass at starfish). While the highlight was the spicy chicken shawarma (Sandy asked if we wanted more), we really wanted to try the camel burger. It was very different from anything I imagined- it was very tasty and a soft meat. I was stuffed at that point!! Sandy was absolutely lovely and even made sure that we had a taxi available to take us back to the hotel! Thank you Sandy for being our guide!!!
