- Bastakia Quarter - Experience the essence of life in Old Dubai during the mid-19th century at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. Situated along the Dubai Creek, this area is a significant heritage site with much of its original architecture preserved and intact.
The traditional wind towers – made from sandstone, teak, gypsum, palm wood, and sandalwood – are just a glimpse into Al Fahidi’s rich history. Every alley, winding path, and breezy tower narrates a story of life before the formation of the seven emirates.
- Al Seef - Al Seef is an ideal spot for a leisurely walk, featuring a waterfront promenade lined with boutique shops, art galleries, eateries, and open-air markets. Indulge in a variety of Emirati handicrafts and bespoke fragrances while uncovering hidden treasures at every turn. Be sure to visit the Museum of Illusions to capture photos with loved ones amidst captivating optical illusions.
- Bur Dubai Abra Station - The vibrant Dubai Creek has been a vital part of local life for generations. It was the preferred location for early settlers, evolving into the city’s first port and a hub for the pearling industry. Today, it remains a bustling area, drawing visitors throughout the year. Visitors can board one of the many traditional ferry boats, known as abras, to cross the creek that divides the Bur Dubai and Deira neighborhoods. This journey offers one of the most affordable and genuine experiences in the city.
An abra, meaning “to cross” in Arabic, operates every few minutes throughout the day between four stations along Dubai Creek. The first route travels from Deira Old Souk Abra Station (near the Spice Souk) to Bur Dubai Abra Station (west of the Textile Souk). The second, busier route, runs continuously from Al Sabkha Abra Station (just southwest of Baniyas Square) to Dubai Old Souk Abra Station.
- Dubai Spice Souk - Hosting over 150 small retailers, the Spice Souk reflects Dubai’s rich trade and cultural influence. This place offers more than just shopping. Nestled within these streets is a culinary history infused with the authentic spirit of Arabia. Observe the stocks being replenished every morning, freshly imported from India, Pakistan, and Iran. Or savor the finest varieties of crunchy nuts and dried fruits, guided by local vendors passionately sharing the richness of their offerings.
- Dubai Gold Souk - A visit to Dubai is incomplete without exploring the renowned Gold Souk, one of the oldest and most captivating traditional markets in the emirate. Whether browsing or searching for even the smallest piece of precious gold, stroll through the dazzling bazaar to discover designs from around the world crafted with various carats.
