- The Chinese Pavilion - The pavilion features Swedish Rococo furniture with Chinese influences, alongside imported Chinese artifacts. Many rooms retain their original Chinese silk and paper wall coverings. The collection includes lacquered screens, stained glass, porcelain, and other decorative items, likely imported by the Swedish East India Company. Some Chinese pieces date back to the times of Queen Hedvig Eleonora and Queen Kristina, when porcelain was a luxury.

The unique combo of the exotic Chinese Pavilion pleasure palace, the theatre inside the palace, and stunning palace gardens make your trip to Drottningholm extraordinary. Influenced by French architecture, Queen Hedvig Eleonora commissioned the palace to be built by architect Nicodemus Tessin the Elder. The palace has been marked by several royal figures over time. The palace serves as the permanent home for Their Majesties the King and Queen. They exclusively use the rooms in the palace’s southern wing. The rest of the palace and grounds are open to the public all year.
