[Spoiler alert for Sideshow] There was a part in the game where we were supposed to knock, that really threw us off, why would you make noise and give away your position if you were trapped and trying to escape? We talked about this after the game and consider it a flaw. If this is corrected, we would highly recommend it.

Before going to the new North Hollywood location, I tried out the Dr. X escape room in DTLA, and so I have something to compare the Ringmaster's Quarters to since they are both a part of the same company. PRO 1) Escape rooms are always fun! 2) The clues and hints had just the right level of difficulty. CON 1) The employees at the front were positive, but not very prepared or enthusiastic like in the Horror Escape's DTLA location. The guy explaining the rules in North Hollywood continued to look down at his paper as he fumbled with his words. He also wasn't wearing a costume or anything professional which took away from the experience since he did not get us in the mood for our adventure. This is in contrast to Horror Escape DTLA. Our game master in DTLA was dressed up, and prepared(he did not need to look down at a paper to tell us what we needed to know). He not only had the rules memorized but he really got into his character. Before going to the new North Hollywood location, I tried out the Dr. X escape room in DTLA, and so I have something to compare the NoHo Ringmaster's Quarters to since they are both a part of the same company. PRO 1) The escape room had just as good of clues and hints as it's other location. 2) The clues and hints had just the right level of difficulty. 3) Location is in the valley (more convenient for those of us who live out here) 4) The hints were so helpful. CON 1) The two employees at the front were positive, but not very prepared or enthusiastic like in the Horror Escape's DTLA location. 2) Gamemaster did not tell us we could ask or receive hints (but he did give us some eventually). 3) At one point we were able to unlock one of the items and get to the second door WITHOUT SOLVING one of the safes that was in the first room, SO the gamemaster had to come in and tell us that we couldn't go into the next room (even though we had the key) until we opened the safe first (he didn't know how we were able to do it). So I would say, maybe that should be remedied so it doesn't happen to others 4)As long as you get a discount, the price is reasonable, however full price for 50 minutes is $36. Unfortunately, you can not apply the current groupon money saver to this North Hollywood location. 5) The 7403 address number was no where to be seen (because the gamemaster said that it was behind the bushes) but thankfully as I was walking along the sidewalk and saw a white sign that said "Doors will unlock 15 minutes before your start time". This location is next to RED GATES, but the entrance to the escape room has a BLUE GATED door. 6) Horror Escapes North Hollywood did not take team group pictures like Horror Escapes DTLA. I wish they had! SUMMARY I would definitely recommend! I know my "con" list is lengthy, but that part of the review is mainly for the horror escape employees of north hollywood, not for clients. I enjoyed myself, and can't wait until the third room comes out in fall (apparently, there will be a ball pit and one may have to climb walls).
