Great fun! - A wonderful night out (almost all were solo travelers) with a host/guide who clearly knew his stuff. Mike was wonderful and it was cool seeing him acknowledged by so many locals around the markets - we even got some free hot donuts! Delicious! The tastings were well organized but definitely come hungry or you’re going to miss out!

The perfect gift for friends/family visiting Seoul - After having such a great time on my tour with Mike in March 2025. I told all of my friends/family if they’re visiting Seoul, this tour is a MUST DO.
I just booked a tour for my cousin and friend, and I’m glad to hear how much they enjoyed it. From Ming & Alex (from Sweden), thank you Mike!

Fantastic Experience, Mike is the ultimate guide to Seoul’s food scene! - I cannot recommend this tour enough, especially if you get Mike as your guide! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the local food and drink culture, providing fascinating context for everything we tasted. One of the things we appreciated most was his honest advice on what to look for and what to avoid, which made us feel much more confident navigating the local markets on our own.
Mike was also extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to customize the experience for our group. He took the time to understand everyone’s specific likes and dislikes, ensuring that every stop had something delicious for everyone to enjoy. If you’re looking for an authentic, personalized way to experience the alleys of Seoul, this is it. Thanks for an unforgettable night, Mike!

Highly recommended! - This tour was absolutely amazing and easily one of the best food tours I’ve ever done.
Because of Christmas, the tour started an hour earlier than originally planned, but Mike contacted me well in advance to explain everything clearly, which I really appreciated.
From the very beginning, the tour felt relaxed and unhurried. Mike truly took his time, and we ended up spending well over five hours together instead of the scheduled time.
We started at Gwangjang Market, where Mike was very honest about the food stalls. At each stop, a place was already chosen for us, which made everything smooth and stress-free.
After that, we went for a makgeolli tasting, perfectly timed,, as we had already eaten well beforehand and then continued on to visit several different restaurants.
Mike was very transparent about the fact that you do pay a bit extra for this tour, but it is absolutely worth it.
What makes this tour special is that you decide together with the group what you want to try. The options range from safer, more familiar dishes to more adventurous choices like chicken hearts, but everything is a group decision, which makes the experience fun and comfortable for everyone.
Mike shared a lot of information, answered all questions openly, and created a great atmosphere throughout the tour. There was no rushing and no standard tourist food, instead, it felt personal, flexible, and genuinely authentic.
Highly recommended!

Good food, drinking, and new friends - This was a great experience to try foods that we otherwise probably wouldn’t have tried like the street food tents, spicy small crab, and fried pancake with japapeno and garlic. The group we went with was also super friendly. So we got to eat and drink with new ppl and have a good time.

Great experience, more than just another night market tour! - Fun tour with lots of drinking! Mike was very knowledgeable and provided a lot of detail on the different foods and drinks as well as the area in general, but I really liked that the explanations were quick and to the point, leaving more time to actually enjoy the items being presented. It was also nice that the tour was flexible, allowing the group to choose from various options and add-ons along the way.

Thank you Mike !! - Mike was an extremely good host, and super knowledgeable about the food scene in Seoul! Would highly recommend booking with him, he really knows the “if you know you know” places, and has great taste as a former chef.

Look to others… - I didn’t enjoy this tour. The host was was the issue
He spoke wayyy too quickly and we couldn’t understand about 40 % of what he said. It felt Very rushed.
He was not personable to the point of coming across a bit arrogant.
He rushed everything.
This wasn’t a good experience for me.
I have done over 40 food tours globally. This was a 5 out of 10 and just nowhere near where the standard of food tours in other countries.
Note / if u are not super adventurous with food this is not for you.
Note / there was no attempt to satisfy eaters that wouldn’t eat fish jerky or chicken hearts or pig cartiledge or octopus or raw beef.
My suggestion is the tour guide needs to be more personable with his guests. I felt like a number and not a like a paying guest.
How this tour has such a high rating is beyond me… I guess that comes from the guides requesting a good review and most people just obliging
without giving any real thought or not having anything to compare the tour to..?
Look to others - as I was disappointed.

Not worth the money. - I cannot recommend this tour. You pay £65 upfront (around ₩110,000) for this tour for 3/4 hours, and then on top of that the guide collects ₩10,000–₩20,000 won multiple times along the way as a shared “kitty” to cover food and drinks. This is not made clear enough in advance, and it ends up being expensive for what you actually receive.
The biggest issue is how unfair this payment system is. Everyone splits the bill equally, regardless of what they actually eat or drink. Some people drink a lot, some eat more — yet everyone pays the same. You are essentially subsidising strangers.
At the final stop, a woman on my tour did not eat or drink any food at all as she wasn’t feeling it, yet she was asked to top up the kitty to pay for that round.
The tour guide came across as cold and detached, which matches what other reviewers have mentioned. The places we visited were good and I did enjoy the food itself. Its just the overall structure of the tour that didn’t make sense as all food and drinks are pooled, ordered, and controlled by the guide, you are not actually paying for what you personally eat or drink anyway.
