Souq Waqif - Souq Waqif (Arabic: Sūq Wāqif, “the standing market”) is a vibrant marketplace located in Doha, Qatar. This souq offers a variety of traditional garments, spices, handicrafts, and souvenirs. It also features numerous restaurants and Shisha lounges. The original structure, showcasing traditional Qatari architecture, dates back to the 20th century and underwent renovation in 2006. Established over a century ago near the dry riverbed known as Wadi Musheireb, it served as a trading hub for Bedouins and locals, primarily dealing in livestock. Today, Souq Waqif is a popular tourist attraction in Doha.

Katara Cultural Village - Katara is a cultural village situated in Doha, Qatar, on the eastern coast between West Bay and the Pearl. The name “Katara” was historically used for Qatar before the 18th century. It had its soft opening in October 2010 during the Doha Tribeca Film Festival (DTFF), an event it continues to host. Katara features an open amphitheater, an opera house, a multi-purpose cinema, a versatile conference hall, a beach, and a souq. In November 2015, a museum dedicated to the country’s maritime heritage was inaugurated.

The Pearl Island - The Pearl-Qatar is an expansive artificial island covering nearly four square kilometers. It is the first land in Qatar where foreign nationals can own property freehold. The name “The Pearl” was chosen because the island is being developed on one of Qatar’s former major pearl diving sites. Before the introduction of more affordable Japanese pearls, Qatar was a leading pearl trader in Asia. The Pearl-Qatar symbolizes Qatar’s rich history in the pearl industry and is designed to resemble a string of pearls.
