Museum of Islamic Art - This impressive structure is situated on an artificial island off Doha’s Corniche. The museum is dedicated to showcasing the vibrant, complex, and diverse arts of the Islamic world. It is a world-class institution that collects, preserves, studies, and exhibits masterpieces spanning three continents and 13 centuries. The building itself was designed by the renowned architect I. M. Pei, who also designed the Louvre Pyramid in Paris.
Katara Cultural Village - This is Qatar’s largest and most multi-dimensional cultural project. It is a place where people gather to experience global cultures. With its beautiful theatres, concert halls, exhibition galleries, and state-of-the-art facilities, Katara aims to be a world leader in multicultural activities.
The Pearl Island - A Riviera-style, man-made island developed in an exclusive enclave of Doha. It is the Middle East’s most glamorous address, covering 400 hectares of reclaimed land and Qatar’s first international urban development venture.
Souq Waqif - Walking through the bustling alleys of Souq Waqif offers an authentic taste of traditional commerce, architecture, and culture. The maze of small shops offers a dazzling array of Middle Eastern merchandise, from spices and seasonal delicacies to perfumes, jewelry, clothing, handicrafts, and a treasure trove of souvenir bargains. Traditional music, art, and cultural shows enhance the ambiance of this special place. Relax and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere at one of its eclectic mix of great restaurants and cafes.
The Corniche - A 10km long, palm-fringed promenade and dual carriageway that extends in a horseshoe shape around Doha Bay and the city’s seafront. It is lined with hotels, government buildings, lovely open, manicured parks with family facilities, and public buildings such as museums and a library. People love to stroll along the Corniche, taking in the twinkling sights of the city and the Arabian Gulf.
Half Day Desert Safari
Sealine Beach - The first stop to enjoy a camel ride, falconry, tea, and a restroom break.
Khor Al Udaid Beach - The third stop to enjoy the best view of sand, sun, and the sea.
North Of Qatar Tour
Al Khor - Also spelled Al Khawr, meaning “sea on three sides” in Arabic. Older than Doha but much smaller in size. Al Khor is located an easy 50 kilometers north of Doha. It used to be the center of the pearling industry in Qatar but lost its importance after the introduction of cultured pearls. It now boasts a scenic harbor where you can find traditional fishing dhows, a corniche leading to mangrove colonies, and a museum showcasing the fishing, pearling, and dhow building industries.
Al Thakhira Beach - The mangrove colony is not only a major tourism attraction for Qatar but also an important natural environmental resource. It provides a natural habitat and sanctuary for birds, fish, and other animals, as well as preventing coastal erosion.
Al Zubara Fort - Located in the northwestern part of Qatar, Al Zubarah Fort was built beside the ruins of an ancient fort. Al-Zubarah was once a flourishing port and a center of trade, fishing, and pearling. Now a UNESCO World Heritage site, this protected area has become one of the most important archaeological sites in Qatar. An international team of archaeologists and antiquities experts, led by the Qatar Museums Authority, have uncovered many artifacts displayed in the renovated fort.
West Qatar Tour
Al Shahaniya Racetrack - A camel racing track where you can enjoy watching numerous camels under training.
EAST-WEST / WEST-EAST by Richard Serra - The landscape of the Zekreet peninsula features unique and fascinating geology. Salt flats, plateau rocks, and open desert dominate this scenery. There are no sand dunes here, but bizarre rock formations and great views over the blue waters of the gulf. Shortly before reaching Film City, you will drive up a slope and see the buildings in the distance. The walled city is more the size of a village, yet it features a main gate and city walls with guard towers at the front. While nothing is authentic, the buildings show how a traditional village in the region might have looked in the past. For the best view, continue through to the back and climb the stairs to a covered terrace overlooking the houses and the green oasis in the back. There is a small shop that sells potato chips and bottled water/soda. Photo opportunities, Oryx, Ostriches & spectacular scenery. If the weather is nice, you could walk into the oasis next to Film City. An artificial drinking pond sometimes attracts the herd of Oryx grazing nearby. Warning: Even though Oryx are beautiful photo models, they will defend their young ones and might attack if you get closer than 30-40 meters. Thus, keep children supervised.
