Fly with the dogs - We were picked up for this activity from the Yellowknife place we rented on AirBnB. The bus driver Curtis, who also happened to be a former government worker for the town, gave us a very nice tutorial about various buildings that we passed on our way as well as the town’s history and interesting facts about Yellowknife. That was a great start of the tour. Once we reached the dog property, we stayed in a wormed tent and were served hot drinks while waiting for our term to ride the dog sleds. This is a very memorable experience. Dogs actually run rather fast through different terrains starting in the woods and then on a frozen lake. That was a great fun to experience.

Thrilling and fun - We had an amazing time with Kelly and her family of North of 60 Adventures doing the dog sledding tour. My friends came from out of town and we booked this tour online through TripAdvisor. We immediately got a confirmation and all the details of the tour. My friend’s eight year-old granddaughter was so excited for this. They came to pick us up at my friends hotel. The gentleman driver was punctual and extremely polite. The bus was warm and comfortable. We drove 15 minutes to the location. They had a cabin that was very well heated and we were brought inside where Kelly met us and gave us a history of dog sledding and its connection with the Dene culture. It was interesting to learn about the history of dog sledding and what an important mode of transportation it was before snowmobiles were invented. The entire operation is run by Kelly’s family and dog sledding is something that has been in their family for generations. The cabin was cosy, warm and very rustic. We had a meet and greet with the dogs and my friend’s eight-year-old granddaughter was absolutely ecstatic. When our turn came, we sat in the sled and were covered in blankets. We had explained to Kelly that we had done a snowmobile tour the day before and we had been too cold so she looked after us to make sure we didn’t freeze. The dogs ran across the lake and the trails for a total of approximately 25 minutes. It was absolutely exhilarating and exciting. They were so fast! It was unbelievable how these dogs knew exactly where to go. What a thrilling experience! Once the ride was over, we went back to the cabin and we were served some hot tea, hot chocolate, and some delicious traditional Bannock bread and homemade jam made by Kelly herself. Bannock is a traditional first nation’s bread and this recipe was in her family for generations. The whole experience was, fun, very cosy and very inviting. The driver brought my friends back to their hotel and he was kind enough to drop me off right in front of my apartment. All in all, I highly recommend this wonderful tour. This is a local family that are running this . A family of good honest, hard-working people, including Kelly and her son. There’s nothing more that makes me happy but to support our locals, especially when the tour is absolutely phenomenal. Thank you, Kelly and family for this wonderful adventure.

Kelly saved our trip! Truly above and beyond service at the Skydome - I cannot recommend this company enough. We originally had a dog sledding tour booked, but when it couldn't push through, Kelly was incredibly proactive in turning the situation around. I was in a tough spot because I had already booked a non-refundable tour with a completely different provider for that evening. Kelly went above and beyond—she not only offered us a replacement, but she actually covered the refund for the other non-refundable tour and upgraded us to the Aurora Skydome viewing! The experience itself was spectacular. The Skydome was superb and cozy, complete with a warm fireplace, hot cocoa, and great snacks (biscuits, cheese, and pepperoni). Brian, our guide, was awesome and made the night special. We really appreciated the effort to make this happen. If you are in Yellowknife, book with them!

Extremely bad service - First of all, I accepted it when the trip was rescheduled because of the weather. But I was only notified at 12pm, exactly the time the trip should start. I’d appreciate more if I was told even 10 minutes beforehand. I gather the weather didn’t drop below -30 all of a sudden? Then, the start time changed to 1pm after the rescheduling. While searching through all the communications, I didn’t find a single message about that. I made several calls, unanswered. I left a few messages saying that I’d be waiting in the hotel lobby around 12pm, no reply. I finally got a call at 12:15pm saying the trip would start at 1pm. Finally, when I asked the owner why it was changed to 1. And who and when told me this change. She said “do you still want to come or not”. That’s eye opening. I’d say there are a lot of bigger scale trips organized by proper companies. My friends who went with trips organized by Aurora Village were much better. This one is funny, they emphasized punctuality but didn’t honor that themselves. I already asked for a refund, not sure if that’d be smooth.
