Best Monkey Experience in Punta Cana - This wasn’t our first time doing a monkey excursion in Punta Cana, but after visiting Monkey House, it will definitely be our go-to from now on. They offer four different types of monkeys, and the amount of one-on-one time you get is much longer than with other excursions. They also limit the number of visitors, which makes a huge difference. Unlike some places that move you through quickly and feel crowded, Monkey House gives you a more personal, relaxed experience without the pressure to rush or constantly buy products. The only downside is the cost of their photos, but they do give you time with the monkeys where you can take your own pictures and videos, which is a big plus. One tip—bring cash. They charge a fairly high fee for credit card purchases when buying photos, souvenirs, food, or drinks.

Lots of Fun - We had an amazing time and lots of fun with the Lil monkeys! Experience was a little messy but totally worth it. Recommend bringing your own toiletries if you want to use the facilities. Wish the photo pricng was more straightforward, had to haggle a lot to get a reasonable price. Other than that the day was perfect.

Fun monkeys. DO NOT ACCEPT THE PINEAPPLE unless it's worth $20.00 each to you. - First, the monkeys are super cute and interactive with you. It is a great experience doing the monkey part of the experience. 10/10. They appear happy and well cared for. During the experience they will ask you if you would like a pineapple juice or Pina Colada. They make it sound included, when in fact it comes in a pineapple and you will be charged $20.00 per pineapple, even without alcohol. Just know going in what you are purchasing. We did not.

Cool monkeys, shifty & expensive photo pricing - The monkey experience is good and fun! CAUTION! 1 - Photo pricing is HIGH and will be negotiated but watch out for a “used car dealership approach” and last minute fees. 2 - Do not drink the drinks they offer. Water is unsafe for travelers and you will be rushed to enjoy your drinks. 3 - Make sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. The monkeys will release themselves on you.

Beware of cost and book with a better tour company. - The communication with Viator was not good. The tour was scheduled for 1230pm we didn’t get picked up until 1230pm. The monkeys were not well controlled and they urinated on us. The guy thought it was funny to allow them to keep jumping on you even after I said stop numerous times. The pictures that they want you to purchase an extremely expensive. One virgin pina colada was $20 and small can of pringles $5.00. If you go do not wear anything nice because you will get super dirty. My grandson did get a couple of pictures that I liked but beyond that I would personally never go again.

BEWARE - The experience itself was a lot of fun. The monkeys crawl and jump all over you. My kids and I loved it, until one of the monkeys freaked out and attacked my daughter. It started screeching, the staff member tried to pull the monkey off her shoulder by the leash. The monkey grabbed on to her arm, scratching her and wouldn't let go. Then bit her hand which broke skin and was bleeding. They attempted to clean her wound, but brought the monkey in the same room with her and tied it to table while it continued screeching and was trying to get off leash. My daughter was terrified by that point. The monkey was supposedly vaccinated for rabies, but there was no way we were trusting the vet records in a foreign country with rabies being 100% fatal. Plus the vet record looked pretty fake. this ended up ruining our vacation. We had to take her to two different hospitals with ridiculous wait times. One of which was going to charge us $2000 just to be seen by the doctor and they didn't even have have a tetanus or rabies vaccine available. The resort doctor was very helpful. Sent us to another hospital that supposedly had the vaccine the next day. Took a $70 taxi ride to that hospital an hour away, waited a long time again, only to find out they didn't have the vaccine either. My husband booked a flight to Miami the same day to get the care we needed. It is also very unsanitary. Be prepared to be peed on, pooped on, offered completely overpriced snacks and drinks and literally have nowhere to wash your hands with soap or hand sanitizer. One of the monkeys literally peed all over my husband's head. At that point he was done with the monkeys and the people were not happy and a bit rude because he left the area where they were taking our pictures. They take a million pictures and make a cute video that they will sell you for $400 at the end of the experience. I asked for some free pictures and the video since we knew our day was going to be ruined with needing a hospital visit. After negotiating, they gave me a whopping three free pictures. And the last half of our vacation was completely ruined.

Cool tour but…. They take amazing pics and want $370 for them. - We were so looking forward to this. From the beginning communication was poor. We never heard from a driver about time to pick up. The first part of tour was pretty cool as far as seeing monkeys but very commercial… you can’t take pics but they do and then try to charge you $370! The pics would have been great but not 370?!?! Maybe $100-$150. Who pays $370 (and up) for pics? You can take your own pics second half of tour but was very different then first half. No one on our tour bought them and they all would have had they been a reasonable price! It feels like they think we just have money to burn because we are on vacation. Very very disappointed. And don’t say yes to a drink, they are $20 each!
