Truly unique - This was one of the most unforgettable trips in my life. It is not easy to get to Lake Abbe, but the views over there are worth the bumpy road leading to them. The accommodation was fantastic. No network, no problems. Just the amazing view of the lake and its unique surroundings. Lac Assal was also a lot of fun. Once you there, don't waste your opportunity to relax in the salt water. The guides were super friendly and took great care of me. I traveled solo, but nonetheless I felt perfectly safe all the time. Thank you very much for this amazing experience!

An adventure to experience in Djibouti - Djibouti is a tough place to travel and not a lot of tourists. But my 2-day adventure was great and organized well. My guide named Daoud and our driver Ali picked me up on time and we began our 270 km drive to Lake Abbe in far western Djibouti. Along the way we passed many nomadic areas and some we stopped and met the local people. They invited us into their home and were very sweet. It was an experience I will treasure forever. Our lunch in Dunham was excellent and helped calm the stomach as the roads are very bumpy and have no asphalt. We fed baboons from the car and saw other animals. One we got to the camp you have to be prepared to rough it. The accommodations are sparse but comfortable. I had a stone hut while others had wire and frame covered in woven material. Showers and toilets are rudimentary but useable. It was New Year’s Eve so that was special. Our dinner was delicious with goat meat and pasta. Tea is amazing - lots of cinnamon. For bed it was very warm in the hut but the cot was good for a sleep. We had a 5am wake up to see the sunrise over the limestone chimneys. It made the whole trip with it - stunning views and scenery. My guide explained about the geothermal areas and the tectonic plates that congregate here. After breakfast we headed back east and had 5-6 hours to Lake Assal - the lowest point on the African continent and 3rd lowest in the world. Obviously it is a salt lake and we had a short visit there. Overall the tour was exactly what I wanted to experience. Thanks again to Daoud and Ali!

Wonderful tour - This was an excellent way to see more of Djibouti and immerse myself in the culture. As a solo female traveler I was well taken care of by Doad and our driver and always felt safe. The food was excellent, the lodge was a lovely place to spend the night and it was an overall fantastic experience. I couldn’t have asked for more. I’m so grateful to Arhotours for providing this beautiful experience. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience the best of Djibouti.

Excellent stay with a guide at the top! - Guide Daoud has adapted to our desires to organize a superb discovery of the north of Djibouti. Despite the difficult weather at the start, he was able to reorganize the program so that we could fully enjoy the stay and discover the country in all its facets. A trip rich in traditions and natural wonders — we have an excellent memory and highly recommend its services!

Three beautiful days in the most interesting and often unknown country of Africa! - It was a fantastic experience overall. I visited Djibouti for 3 days, and I was with this company for all 3 days. The first day the two Daouds picked me up from the airport. After a brief stop at my hotel (which I had booked myself), we were off to visiting the city and the three ethnic groups and their residences in the city. This part was customized per my request. The entire experience was very authentic and interesting. The next day we visited Lake Asal (as mentioned in the standard itinerary). This is a popular destination and within easy reach of the capital. Afterwards we saw the volcanic fault lines in the Afar region and visited a wonderful campsite in the Tadjourah region. apart from its scenic beauty my reason for visiting that was to try locating the only endemic bird of Djibouti. Although the Djibouti francolin is currently critically endangered, we found it and a got a great photo the next morning!

Highly recommended - Daoud and Idriss are the people you need to explore Djibouti. Very hospitable very welcoming. Make sure to visit Tadjourah region of the AFAR people and experience culture of them who make up the most of the population of Djibouti. Highly recommended guides and their plans for my trip in Djibouti from the city to lac abbe to lac assal . I will definitely recommend and choose them for my next visit.
