Cusco - Patabamba - Huchuy Qosqo
Patabamba - In the early morning, the operator will pick guests up from their hotel and drive them in private transportation to the quaint village of Patabamba (3,800m/12,467ft). The day’s adventure begins with a gentle uphill hike through stunning Andean landscapes for approximately 3 hours, reaching the trek’s highest point at 4,200m/13,779ft. From this vantage point, breathtaking views of snowcapped mountains and valleys unfold. The journey continues downhill along an ancient mystical path leading to Leon Punku, where a narrow corridor between towering rock walls reveals Incan remains and bridges.
After enjoying a box lunch, the afternoon hike proceeds towards the destination of Huchuy Qosqo (3,600m/11,811ft). Upon arrival, the group will pass the ruins and head to their homestay. The surrounding area’s spectacular views can be admired, and in the evening, a sky full of stars awaits.
Huchuy Qosqo - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Huchuy Qosqo - Following breakfast, guests will enjoy a guided tour of Huchuy Qosqo, an Inca archaeological site featuring impressive architecture, a large ceremonial center, storehouses, and water channels, all surrounded by Inca agricultural terraces. After the tour, a 2-hour downhill walk to the village of Lamay (3,000m/9,840ft) is planned, where lunch will be served.
Subsequently, private transport will take the group to Ollantaytambo (2,792m/9,160ft), allowing time to explore the well-preserved Inca town, with its original streets, houses, and waterways. Later, an afternoon train will be boarded to Aguas Calientes, where the night will be spent in a hotel.
Machu Picchu - Cusco
Machu Picchu - An early start is planned. After breakfast, luggage will be left at the hotel, and the earliest bus to Machu Picchu will be taken. The first bus departs around 5:30 am, arriving at Machu Picchu approximately 30 minutes later. Upon arrival, a guided tour of the major sites of the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu (2,400m/7,875ft), will be conducted for about 2 hours. Following the tour, there will be free time to take photos and explore the mysterious city independently. For those with energy, climbing Huayna Picchu (2,720m/8,923ft) is an option, taking about 45 minutes to reach the top (approximately 2 hours round trip).
Afterward, the group will take the bus back to Aguas Calientes (2,040m.a.s.l), where lunch can be enjoyed (not included). Later in the afternoon, the train will be taken back to Ollantaytambo or Poroy train station, followed by a transfer to the hotel, with an expected arrival in Cusco by 8:30 PM.
