Tales of Cho Lon offers a 4-hour walking tour that delves into the history, cuisine, and culture of the Cho Lon area, also known as Ho Chi Minh City’s Chinatown. Once an independent city with its own unique identity, modern Cho Lon is abundant with stories of various Chinese communities, the arrival of migrants, and a rich tapestry of cultural and religious practices, along with a wide array of foods and beverages.
The tour includes visits to assembly halls, which serve as the social and spiritual centers for different Chinese community groups. Participants will have the opportunity to sample street snacks and savor coffee from one of the city’s oldest coffee stands still in operation. The walk covers main trading streets and one of the largest wholesale markets in Vietnam.
- As this is a walking tour, there is walking time among the location as well as other points of interest along the street, which will add up around 1 hour to the total duration of the tour.
