All about Cu Chi tunnels by Luân. - Visiting the tunnels of Cu Chi was undoubtedly one of the most striking experiences I had in Vietnam. From the very beginning, I felt transported back into the past, living in the skin the ingenuity and resilience of the Vietnamese fighters during the war. The guided tour of Luân was fundamental to understanding the complexity of this impressive underground network, which extends over more than 200 kilometers in the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City. The visit allowed me to see how Vietnamese soldiers and civilians survived in extremely difficult conditions, using the tunnels as hiding places, communication routes, weapons depots, hospitals and even kitchens, all underground. I was fascinated by the creativity and skill demonstrated in reusing undetonated bombs to make ingenious traps, as well as the camouflage and communication systems that allowed the Vietnamese to move and resist for so long. Our guide explained and showed real examples of these traps and tricks, making the experience even more real and immersive. I also had the opportunity to enter the tunnels, a physical and psychological challenge that gave me a small sample of the difficulties faced by those who lived there for months. The sense of claustrophobia and the muggy environment are indescribable, and only reinforce respect for those who survived in these conditions. At the end, we tasted the mandioca with peanut, the basic food of the combatants, and attended a brief presentation on the history of the region, thus completing an educational and exciting experience. I highly recommend this tour to those who visit Ho Chi Minh City. It is a lesson of living history, excellently conducted by our guide Luân, who made everything even more interesting with his knowledge and sympathy.

The tunnels - The trip to the tunnels was very good. During the ride out our guide Stark, presented the history of the tunnels, orally and with a short video. At the site Stark explained each of the exhibits in detail. If you are 70 and over you will only be able to check out the first 20 meters. This is a government rule not a tour operator rule.

Great trip with wonderful guide! - Really enjoyed our trip to the tunnels despite the long journey there and back. We were collected from our hotel by minibus. Just 3 couples in total and our fabulous guide - Ying - who was a real character. She talked to us for over an hour on the journey there explaining the history of Vietnam as well as the tunnels and also life in general in Vietnam. She was knowledgeable and very funny. When we arrived at the tunnels it was very busy with lots of other groups but Ying kept our group together and continued to explain everything we were seeing. You do get the opportunity to go in one of the tunnels which are extremely small but there is no pressure to do so. You also get the opportunity to fire some guns but we found that area to be extremely loud! But apart from that there was lots to see and learn and we came away with a much better understanding of how unbearable the conditions would have been. Great experience.
