Matt took the complexity... - Matt took the complexity of wine and transferred it to easy to understand concepts. This was the best last minute decision we made.

Knowledgeable guide in a cool cave setting - I had a good experience at Compass with Pauline. I was fortunate to be the only person that day and I received what was essentially a private class. Pauline is very knowledgeable about Burgundy and answered all of my questions enthusiastically. The cellar location is charming and a great place for the tasting class. We tasted wines from different regions in Burgundy and paired them with cheeses and meats.

Superlative - Matt was our instructor he was fantastic. We learned so much about the wine, the grapes, the growing regions in France, how to detect whether a wine is older or newer, whether it was a fruity, flowery or herbaceous scent and more. He had a great teaching style as well as a sense of humor. It was a relaxed atmosphere and also so fun! Highly recommended!!

Unique Class - Best wine tasting experience we've had! Truly a "class" rather then simply a "tasting" that included 6 wines. Very interesting and fun.

Fun and educational - This was educational and lots of fun! We got to smell/understand various aromas that might be in the burgundy wines, and then we were able to identify these aromas in the wines we tasted. Our host was extremely knowledgable about wine in general and French wines and Burgundy in particular. We ended up buying some wines that we tasted that we likely can’t get at home, and the prices were very good. BTW, it was 99F on that day and so a couple hours in the underground cellar was quite welcome!

Great into to regional wines - This was a really wonderful education in the regional wines. We got to try a total of 3 whites and 3 reds paper with cheese also cured meats. Very thorough and plenty of time for questions. Had a fun scent exercise to practice identification of notes in the wines.
