Watamu - Upon arrival at the airport or hotel, our driver will greet you and transport you to Watamu Mawe Resort, where you will enjoy a 4-night stay. After checking in and relaxing, you have the option to spend the evening by the pool, at the spa, on the cliff with stunning sea views, or strolling along the warm, sandy beaches of Watamu. After dinner, you will retire for the night at the resort, eagerly anticipating the highlights of your holiday.

WATAMU MARINE PARK & SUDI ISLAND DAY TRIP

Watamu National Marine Park - At 8:30 am, our driver will meet you to take you to the Marine Park. You’ll board a motorized two-decker glass-bottom boat for an exciting excursion, starting with dolphin sightings at their favorite spots. The journey continues to the marine park, a protected area in Watamu recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. It is home to three species of sea turtles, whale sharks, and numerous marine species. Upon arrival at Sudi Island, enjoy a delicious seafood meal (chicken is available for non-seafood eaters). After lunch, take a guided canoe ride through the mangrove forest, learn about the island’s history and wildlife, swim along the island’s shores, or simply bask in the sun and take photos. At 4:30 pm, it’s time to board the boat back to the mainland, where your driver will be waiting to return you to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

MALINDI DAY TRIP

Gede Ruins - After breakfast, our driver will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the Gede ruins, the remnants of a Swahili town typical of those along the East African Coast. Originating in the twelfth century, it was rebuilt in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, coinciding with the migration of many Kilwa citizens to Mombasa, Malindi, and other coastal areas. The site includes mosques, a magnificent palace, and houses nestled in 45 acres of ancient forest.

Next, visit the Portuguese Chapel, Vasco da Gama Pillar, and the Malindi Museum to learn about the town’s history, people, and culture. Enjoy lunch in Malindi before heading to Hell’s Kitchen Canyon, about a 1-hour and 15-minute drive away. Known locally as ‘Nyari,’ meaning depression in Kigiriama, this ever-expanding site was once a sandstone ridge, now eroded into jagged crimson gorges. The sunlit gullies and valleys create a stunning mirage of pink, yellow, white, and dominant crimson hues. It is truly a sight to behold.

You will be returned to your resort for dinner and an overnight stay.
