Amboseli is renowned as a game viewing paradise, offering guaranteed elephant sightings along with other remarkable wildlife encounters. Its compact size allows visitors to explore nearly every aspect within just two days. Additionally, Amboseli provides stunning views of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest free-standing mountain and Africa’s highest peak.
Located at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park thrives on the mountain’s melting snow, which flows into underground springs that nourish the swamps and wetlands scattered across the plains. These water sources attract a variety of animals, with the free-roaming elephants being the most popular. Visitors can also spot elands, waterbucks, Grant’s gazelles, warthogs, Coke’s hartebeests, zebras, and other grazing herbivores.
The park’s rich prey population supports predators such as lions, leopards, civets, wildcats, and other elusive hunters, along with scavengers like jackals and hyenas.
