City tour with a luxury comfortable car - Could not imagine to make a city tour with a auto car in this city; but it was excellent, probably we need some more time but it was comfortable and after walks it was fabulous to sit into an air-conditioned car. The driver was excellent and we could visit different places. The guide was extremely good, unbelievable what he knew and how good it could explain. Excellent lunch.
Discovering Dhaka’s Historical Gems
On the second day, as the city continues to celebrate, take a step back in time with the Old Capital Sightseeing, available from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This tour offers a serene escape from the bustling city, taking you to Sonargaon, the ancient capital of Bengal. Here, the Sonargaon Folk Art and Craft Museum stands as a testament to the region’s rich artistic heritage. The nearby Panam Nagar, with its 250-year-old ruins, offers a glimpse into the architectural grandeur of the past.
Despite the forecast of rain and potential storms, the lush greenery and historical ambiance of these sites provide a tranquil backdrop for reflection and exploration. The Goaldi Mosque, a beautiful terracotta structure from the 15th century, is another highlight of this tour. A reviewer shared on 2025-01-14:
Drive to the green surroundings from Dhaka to Bangladesh’s origins - In January I took the day trip from Dhaka to Sonargaon and Panam City. Robin picked me up at the hotel, as free extra points we went to the Bangladeshi parliament and the Dhakeshwari temple before we reached Sonargaon in the air-conditioned car. Robin was a very educated, pleasant conversation partner who provided comprehensive information about the country and its people. Afterwards we visited Panam City and headed back to Dhaka. After the hustle and bustle of the city, the green land did well.
