A fun Desert activity in Merzouga - While we were in Merzouga, we decided to book an off-roading and dune riding experience in a 4x4 vehicle. We booked this activity with Mohammed, and he came to pick us up directly from our accommodation. From there, we went to explore Merzouga and the nearby villages. We visited a small village where the Gnawa people performed their traditional music for us, and we even danced along to the rhythms. We also visited old mineral mines and then stopped to take a break with nomads, who kindly served us tea and shared stories about their lifestyle. It was fascinating to see how simply and happily they live. After that, we continued our journey toward the dunes of Erg Chebbi, with their golden, beautiful landscapes. Driving on the dunes was an incredible experience, and we had plenty of time to stop and take photos. Later, we stopped at a palm tree oasis near Merzouga village and enjoyed a peaceful walk through the oasis. At the end of the tour, we were dropped back at our accommodation. It truly was a fun and memorable experience, and we really enjoyed our time with Mohammed. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Merzouga.
