Reaching a depth of about 60 meters, the city could house up to 20,000 individuals, including livestock and supplies. It includes living areas, communal spaces, stables, storage rooms, and a large meeting hall, all interconnected by narrow tunnels and passageways.
  The city’s sophisticated ventilation system ensured a supply of fresh air, while a complex water supply system safeguarded its wells from contamination. Large circular stone doors, operable from within, and hidden passageways provided strong defensive measures.
