The town sits at an elevation of 7,526 feet in Clear Creek County and features a vibrant downtown with numerous shops and restaurants catering to I-70 travelers. Idaho Springs is a favored stop for those journeying on I-70, to and from the mountains. While known for its hot springs, Idaho Springs offers much more for adventure enthusiasts.
• Echo Lake Park - Echo Lake is an alpine lake at the base of Mount Bluesky, one of Colorado’s majestic 14ers. Take time to stroll around the lake and relish the tranquility and beauty of nature.
• Mount Evans Scenic Byway - The Scenic Byway to Mount Blue Sky ascends over 7,000 feet along its 28-mile stretch, reaching an altitude of 14,130 feet. On this tour, the drive reaches 9,000 feet, stopping at Echo Lake at the base of Mount Bluesky. This drive provides visitors with scenic views of the Continental Divide. A stop at Juniper Pass is included, offering magnificent views.
