A New Way to Explore the Mile-High City

As someone who has spent countless hours on the open road, the idea of exploring a city on a Segway was both intriguing and a bit daunting. My husband and I have always been more comfortable with the hum of an RV engine beneath us, but the promise of a new adventure in Denver was too tempting to resist. We found ourselves at the meeting point in front of the Dragonfly Noodle restaurant, ready to embark on a two-hour guided Segway tour of the city.

Our guide, Tyler, greeted us with a warm smile and a quick tutorial on how to maneuver these two-wheeled wonders. It was my first time on a Segway, and I must admit, it took a moment to get the hang of it. But once I did, the sensation of gliding through the streets was exhilarating. The tour promised a general sightseeing experience, and while it wasn’t heavy on historical details, it offered a unique perspective of Denver’s vibrant downtown area.

Tyler led us to Confluence Park, where the Platte River and Cherry Creek meet. It was a perfect spot to pause, take in the view, and snap a few photos. Our tour continued past the striking architecture of the Denver Art Museum and the stately gold-crowned State Capitol.
