- Buckhorn Exchange - We’ll pedal through the Metropolitan State University of Denver, the historic Tivoli Brewery, and Ninth Street Historic Park before arriving at the Buckhorn Exchange.
Established in 1893, the Buckhorn Exchange is Denver’s oldest restaurant and a National Historic Landmark. Founded by Henry H. “Shorty Scout” Zietz, a former scout for Buffalo Bill, the restaurant boasts a rich history of hosting notable figures, including President Theodore Roosevelt. Known for its Old West charm, the Buckhorn Exchange features an impressive collection of taxidermy, with over 500 mounted animals adorning its walls. The menu offers a variety of exotic meats, such as elk, buffalo, and Rocky Mountain oysters, providing a unique dining experience that reflects Colorado’s frontier heritage.
We’ll sample some Rocky Mountain Oysters before continuing our journey.
- The Denver Central Market - We’ll pass the Colorado State Capitol on our way to the RiNo District.
The River North Art District (RiNo) in Denver, Colorado, is a lively neighborhood known for its vibrant street art, diverse galleries, studios, and a bustling culinary and nightlife scene. Once an industrial area, RiNo has evolved into a cultural hub where creativity and community thrive. Visitors can explore colorful murals, innovative restaurants, breweries, and unique shops, all contributing to the district’s distinctive character.
We’ll stop at the Denver Central Market, a gourmet food hall in Denver’s RiNo district, featuring 11 vendors offering a variety of culinary delights, including baked goods, handcrafted chocolates, artisan cheeses, and more.
At Vero Pizza, we’ll order one or two pizzas with different styles and enjoy a delicious dessert at Izzio Bakery.
