Delphi - We will proceed to the ancient site of Delphi, a renowned sanctuary with a PanHellenic significance dedicated to Apollo. It functioned as an oracle and was considered the ‘navel’ or center of the world. Today, Delphi symbolizes Greek cultural unity. The picturesque setting offers a calming view of the Greek mountains.

Temple of Apollo - At the site, you will explore the mystical Temple of Apollo where the Pythia communicated with the God, along with the ancient theater and stadium.

Delphi Archaeological Museum - In the museum, you can admire the famous charioteer and Gold Ivory statues.

Arachova - Aráchova is a charming mountain village nestled at the base of Mt. Parnassós in Viotia, Southern Greece. Kalabaka - We will continue with a scenic drive through the mountains, bypassing the national highway, to experience the authentic Greek countryside. Passing through the cities of Lamia, Trikala, and Karditsa, we will arrive at Kalambaka, a charming small city dominated by the Meteora. You will have time to visit the Meteora Monasteries and enjoy a local dinner after settling at the hotel.

Great Meteoron Monastery - We will explore the monasteries and take a closer look at the sacred rocks. These rocks, seemingly suspended in the air (which is the meaning of Meteora), host one of the largest and most significant complexes of Eastern Orthodox Monasteries still in use. Meteora combines natural beauty and cultural heritage, making it a unique destination among the world’s monuments. Great Meteoron is the largest and most impressive.

Roussanou Monastery - The beautiful wall paintings of the Catholicon were created in 1560. Visit Roussanou for a different perspective of the surrounding cliffs and nearby monasteries. Follow the path from this monastery to the upper main road and discover an off-the-road panoramic viewpoint that allows you to walk on bare rocks! Roussanou is also a nunnery hidden among the trees.

Agios Stefanos - The Holy Monastery of Agios Stefanos is one of the few female monasteries of Meteora. The exact date of its construction is unknown, but some evidence suggests it was built in the 15th century.

Ioannina - Dodoni

Dodoni Sanctuary and Theatre - We will travel to the Ancient Greek Oracle of Dodoni, where a vast site is preserved. It reveals the locations of the ancient Greek theater, the Temple, and the Oracle of Zeus. The sanctuary of Dodoni was a major spiritual center in ancient Greece. It was the oldest of the Greek oracles, and ancient people traveled great distances to consult the priests who foretold the future.

Pavlos Vrellis Museum of Greek History - This is the largest museum of wax effigies in Greece and a significant part of our history. Everything in this museum, from conception to creation, was handcrafted by a man who wanted to bring elements of his country’s history to life with love and passion.

Perama Cave - Located on the western shore of the beautiful Lake Pamvotis, Ioannina is one of northern Greece’s most atmospheric cities, known for its culture and wealth, particularly its famous silver artisans during the Ottoman Empire. The walls of its old fortified city, the Kastro, enclose a peaceful quarter, dotted with minarets, and an island in the lake offers a quiet, car-free escape. Just before Ioannina, we will reach the region of Perama. Here, you can visit the Cave of Perama, a timeless cave (spanning 1.5 km) filled with stunning formations of stalagmites and stalactites created 1.5 million years ago.

Zagorochoria - Ioannina

Zagorohoria - Continuing our tour, we will depart from Ioannina for a day tour in Zagorohoria. This is a collection of picturesque, elevated villages and small bridges above the river. You will enjoy a traditional Greek lunch before returning to Ioannina to spend the rest of the day.

Lake Pamvotis - This lake is unique as it is the only one in the world with a small inhabited island, located just across from the city.

Ioannina Castle - The southeast part of Ioannina is a beautiful fortified old town and a historic landmark of the area. This is the oldest Byzantine fortress in Greece, continuously inhabited to this day. Enter the castle’s large gate, bearing the coat of arms of Ali Pasha (the area’s Ottoman ruler during the late 18th – early 19th century); it was a period when Ioannina was the administrative center of western and central continental Greece, then part of the Ottoman Empire. Learn about his great love for Kira Vasiliki, a Christian lady who became his wife, and the story of Kira Frosini, his son’s lover. During his rule, Ioannina developed into a major educational, political, and cultural hub.

Museum of the Royal Tombs of Aigai (Vergina) - You will visit the museum built around the original location of the Royal Tombs, filled with their golden belongings, and most importantly, you will encounter the imposing tomb of Philip II, father of Alexander the Great.

Pella Region - Pella is one of the most significant sites of the Hellenistic Period. It was chosen as the capital of the vast Macedonian Empire in the late 5th century BCE. The archaeological site includes public baths, sanctuaries, villas of wealthy Macedonians with unique mosaic decorations, and the city’s Agora. The city originally covered 400 hectares and gradually became the cultural and commercial center of the empire. More importantly, Alexander the Great was born in Pella.

Archaeological Museum of Pella - The museum of Pella is a modern facility that opened in 2009 and rivals other Greek museums in major cities.

Thessaloniki - We will travel to Thessaloniki for an overnight stay. Thessaloniki is Greece’s second-largest city and the most important center in the area. Built near the sea (at the back of the Thermaïkos Gulf), it is a modern metropolis marked by its turbulent history and cosmopolitan character, giving it a unique beauty and charm. Once visited, you will always want to return.

Thessaloniki City Tour

Thessaloniki - We will tour this beautiful city to see all the highlights of the co-capital. The White Tower, the Arch of Galerius, the Rotunda, the Roman Agora, and the cathedral of the Patron Saint Demetrius, the city wall, and the Ano Poli (upper city) offer breathtaking views of the city and the Aegean Sea. Then, enjoy a traditional northern Greek lunch in the “Ladadika” area. The rest of the day is free to explore more of the city at your own pace, visit museums, stroll through Aristotelous Square, or explore the central commercial streets.

White Tower of Thessaloniki - The White Tower of Thessaloniki is a monument and museum on the city’s waterfront. The current tower replaced an old Byzantine fortification, mentioned around the 12th century, which the Ottoman Empire reconstructed to fortify the city’s harbor after Sultan Murad II captured Thessaloniki in 1430. The tower became infamous as a prison and site of mass executions during Ottoman rule.

Rotunda - This iconic monument of Thessaloniki was built in the early 4th century AD, at the transition between the pagan and Christian worlds, possibly as a temple for ancient cult worship or as a mausoleum for Constantine the Great (306-337).

Arch of Galerius - One of the most notable monuments is the Arch of Galerius, located on the upper side of the Via Egnatia, a short distance from the Rotunda. The Arch of Galerius is a magnificent monument, serving a memorial and honorary purpose rather than a practical one. It is a triumphal arch constructed shortly before 305 AD to honor Roman Emperor Galerius after his final victory over the Persians. The triumphal arch was positioned perpendicular to the ancient Egnatia, which crossed the city (west to east), forming part of the Roman Palace of Galerius, which extended through the current squares of Navarinou and Hippodrome.

Eptapyrgio Castle - The Heptapyrgion is a Byzantine and Ottoman-era fortress located on the northeastern corner of Thessaloniki’s Acropolis. Despite its name, meaning “Fortress of Seven Towers,” it features ten towers and was likely named after the Yedikule Fortress in Constantinople. It served as the main stronghold of the city’s acropolis and the seat of its garrison commander during Ottoman times until the late 19th century.

Church of Saint Dimitrios - Patron of Thessaloniki - The Church of Saint Demetrius is the primary sanctuary dedicated to Saint Demetrius, the patron saint of Thessaloniki, dating back to when it was the second-largest city of the Byzantine Empire. It is part of the Palaeochristian and Byzantine Monuments of Thessaloniki, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1988. Beneath the church is the site where St. Demetrios and other early Roman Christians were martyred.

Filippi - Kavala

Filippi Archaeological Site - Philippi was the most significant Roman Colony in eastern Macedonia. It is also a renowned religious destination due to Saint Paul’s visit around 50 A.D. Most notably, it was here that Paul established the first Christian Church in Europe. You will have the opportunity to explore the Roman City with its agora, theater, and basilicas, as well as the archaeological museum of Philippi.

Kavala - Kavala is built amphitheatrically on the slopes of Mt. Symvolo, forming one of Greece’s most picturesque cities. The city’s breeze flows through its historic buildings, perfectly reflecting its modern character. You will have free time to explore the Acropolis and the old castle, the archaeological museum, the tobacco museum, the historical buildings, or simply enjoy an evening walk by the sea.

Dion - Litochoro

Dion Archaeological Park - We will travel to the site of Dion via the national highway, reaching the village of Dion where we will find the site and the archaeological museum of Dion, an ancient Greek city named after Zeus (in Greek Dias) that maintained its significance during the Macedonian Period. Here, Philip II and his son Alexander the Great made sacrifices to the Gods after conquering the Ancient Greek world, and from here, Alexander The Great began his expedition to Asia. It was a city of immense strategic importance to the Macedonian Kings. Today, you can visit the sanctuary of Isis and other Egyptian Gods, the oldest sanctuary of Goddess Demeter, a Hellenistic theater, a Roman theater and stadium, the mansion of Dionysos with its stunning mosaic decoration, and many more public and private buildings.

Archaeological Museum of Dion - Situated in the present-day settlement of Dion, just 500 meters from the entrance of the archaeological site, the museum showcases finds from various excavations over the years. The artifacts are organized according to the areas from which they were excavated, including discoveries from ancient Pydna and other archaeological sites in Pieria. In the basement, visitors can watch an educational film titled “Daily Life in Ancient Dion,” along with screenings of audiovisual materials related to ancient Dion and Olympus.

Litochoro - After enjoying lunch in the village of Dion, we will drive to the foothills of Mount Olympus to reach the scenic village of Litochoro, where we will spend the rest of the day and overnight. Litochoro is the closest location to Mt. Olympus at sea level, making it a popular destination for those wishing to climb the mountain. We will stay at the base of Greece’s highest mountain, where the 12 Gods of Olympus were believed to reside according to Greek Mythology.

Pilio - Volos

Pelion - Pelion is a mountainous peninsula located in Thessaly. With its diverse natural landscape, it is an ideal destination for both summer and winter holidays. If you can tear yourself away from the stunning Pelion beaches, take the opportunity to explore the stone-made churches in the area. And, of course, don’t miss tasting the local delicacies at the delightful traditional taverns of Pelion. Mount Pelion is a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts and weekend mountain climbers.
