- Ethio-German Park Hotel - Head to the nearest hotel for a quick lunch. While dining, enjoy views of the Jemma River, a tributary of the Nile, with a dramatic drop of nearly 1,000 meters to the valley below.
- Portuguese Bridge - After lunch, take a short 300-meter walk to see the renowned 16th-century bridge, known to tourists as the Portuguese Bridge. Its narrow span resembles Portuguese architecture, but it was actually constructed by Ethiopians. The waterfall beneath it, especially during the rainy season, is quite spectacular. Visitors can also spot one of Ethiopia’s endemic mammals, the Gelada or bleeding heart baboon. In the gorge, various vultures such as Lamergeyer’s, Ruppell’s, and Lappet-faced vultures can be observed.
- Sululta - After exploring Debre Libanos, the Portuguese Bridge, and the Jemma River gorge, stop in Sululta for an Ethiopian honey wine (Tej) tasting at a traditional restaurant. The honey wine is infused with powdered leaves and twigs of hops and is served in a flask-like bottle.
- Mount Entoto - After enjoying the wine tasting, drive uphill to Entoto, which was once Emperor Minilik II’s permanent camp. As you ascend, there is a noticeable drop in altitude, and the air is filled with the fragrance of Eucalyptus trees that blanket the area. From the summit, there is a breathtaking view of the capital and the surrounding countryside.
- Chiromeda Market - After spending time on the mountain, descend to the city to visit the market, which offers a variety of traditional clothing such as dresses, shawls, scarves, bed covers, napkins, men’s shirts, and more. All products are locally handmade.
