Enjoy outside of Addis - Abe is a fantastic guide who knows everything about Ethiopia and can explain in a easy manner. We enjoyed a lot learning about the culture, see people's life out of Addis and the nature at the Portuguese bridge is so fantastic. Abe's hospitality made our day.

One of the best day trips thanks to Joseph! - Absolutely amazing day! As a solo female traveller, I was a bit nervous to go on a tour for the first time in Ethiopia but 15 minutes into getting to know Joseph, I felt safe, comfortable and just excited for the adventure. Joseph was very knowledgeable about the history, culture and nature of Ethiopia. He was an excellent conversationalist and all in all, a great tour guide. The cultural aspect of the tour was incredible but what stole the show was the breathtaking views from the top of the mountains. I have never seen anything like it and it's almost crazy to think that you are able to experience all this a few hours away from the city. 100% would recommend this tour!

One of the best tours thanks to Joseph! - What an amazing experience! First time in Ethiopia and thanks to Joseph, it won't be the last! As a solo female traveller, I was initially a bit nervous to go on this tour but after a few minutes talking to Joseph, I felt comfortable, safe and ready for the adventure. The coffee, the cultural aspect were both incredible but the nature was completely breathtaking. Every minute of the tour was very worth it!

Amazing experience + once in a lifetime nature - This was a brilliant experience! Joseph provided not only exceedingly pleasant company, but was also supremely patient in answering my questions about Ethiopian history and culture. Also, having booked the tour mainly on a whim, I ended up experiencing probably one of the most spectacular natural spectacles I had ever seen in the Blue Nile Gorge. If you are in Addis and have a day to spend, this is a must do!

Can’t recommend enough - My guide Joseph was welcoming, knowledgeable and funny. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience to start my visit in Ethiopia. It’s a great tour to explore the culture, history and nature this county has to offer. Brilliant tour and a brilliant guide.

Must-do daytrip - This was my favourite tour (out of 3 with different providers) during my trip. We drove through beautiful fields and quaint villages. The guided tour of the church and museum was informative. The guide was very knowledgeable. The views around the bridge area are breathtaking, the perfect location for lunch and coffee. Ask for Abe (guide) and George (driver); you won't regret it. Abe is very professional and knowledgeable. George is an excellent driver. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe with them.

10 out of 10 for nature, history, food and culture: wonderful day with Joseph and George - The listing doesn’t do this trip justice. We’re from Washington State—one of the most beautiful places in the world—and we were absolutely floored by the natural beauty we got to see on this tour, which matches or exceeds anything we’ve seen. The driving time sounded long, but the scenery was so picturesque, the villages so fascinating and diverse and the highway so scenic that we genuinely enjoyed the drive as much as the destinations. The day was an incredible mix of wildlife viewing, hiking, history/religion, culture, food (home cooked at a family-owned restaurant high in the mountains), coffee and great company. I can’t say enough good things about our experience. This was due in great part to our guide, Joseph, who is warm, intelligent, funny, wise and particularly gifted for this work. I appreciated the deep respect and affection with which he treated all the people he encountered—from our driver to the village kids to the woman who cooked our lunch to the monks at the monastery—and he never seemed to tire of our endless questions about the things we saw and Ethiopian life and culture. He speaks and understands perfect English, somehow kept on schedule without ever rushing, and went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable day. Five hours in a mini bus might have been rough except for our wonderful driver, George. He was part of the group, kind and thoughtful and an excellent driver who made sure we were comfortable. Driving in Cairo and the Ethiopian countryside is no joke and George is top notch, effortlessly avoiding cows, funeral processions, giant potholes, religious pilgrims, village children, and goats (among other things) while safely navigating mountain roads. He cheerfully stayed with our things at every stop, chatted over coffee, and even volunteered to snap our photos. Lovely guy. Tours, from my experience, can be hit or miss, and Joseph, George, and the incredible itinerary made this one a 10 out of 10.
