Guided tours during the summer season (April 29th - October 25th) are scheduled from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Nestled in the volcanic Eifel region, the Birgel Historical Water Mill is a unique destination that blends traditional craftsmanship, history, and hospitality. It features four restored, operational mills – grain, mustard, oil, and sawmills – showcasing the historical use of hydropower. The grain mill, updated in 1917, was once the largest in Daun County and is particularly noteworthy.

Guided tours allow visitors to witness the production of flour, mustard, and oil, and to savor traditional sourdough bread baked in the mill’s stone oven. A standout feature is the on-site distillery, which offers courses and tastings.

The restaurant on the premises welcomes guests to enjoy regional specialties on a self-paying basis. Whether for a family celebration, wedding, or conference, the mill provides customized programs and remains a vibrant venue where age-old traditions come to life.
