The Udzungwa forest serves as a vital water catchment area and is home to a large number of endemic animal and plant species. The park features stunning mountain scenery, grasslands, rocks, rivers, and waterfalls. As one of the few unique forested areas, Udzungwa boasts a biologically diverse forest, hosting exotic plant species found nowhere else in the world, making it the most appealing of the forest parks. The indigenous primate species, the Iringa red colobus monkey and the Sanje Crested Mangabey, which were not discovered until 1979, are among the park’s attractions.
