A special Safari - Tanzania was awesome and we are so happy with the safari experience in Selous. This park is different and is off the main tour circuit, which makes it more private with fewer guests which is odd because the unrivalled diversity of wildlife, both on land and in the waters along the Rufiji River. Everything was well planned with a spacious Landcruiser, great camping equipment, excellent food and some of the best clear skies for star gazing. We were lucky to chance on some from of meteor shower in one of the nights. Thank you, Rama, for the excellent plan and preparations and having Otto be our guide. He was awesome!

The Real Safari - We were happy to be reunited with our favourite guide Otto in Selous Tanzania. We did 5 days and still could not get enough of the incredible park. Camping in the bush made the experience so magical as we felt more closely connected with nature than if we had stayed in the lodges. The boat tours and fishing in Rufiji were excellent activities that supplemented the game drives and the walking tours. Camping was so much fun and intimate as we were the only people at the campsite. I was very impressed by the quality of the tents and equipment that we had with us. Food was great and the overall experience is so unique and well curated. It was safari as it was in the last century

An absolutely fantastic experience - We had a great experience with guide Otto from Gecko Adventure Tanzania. I wasn’t so sure Selous would be the right destination for us, but in the end it was the most fantastic tour we ever did in Tanzania. At first we were impressed by the pristine beauty of the park. It was not crowded, and we enjoyed the view mostly without other people. We were lucky to have Otto with us because he knew the park and all the places where we could find animals well. His insights and stories about the animals, the history of the park, the culture of Tanzania and much more told us a lot. We stayed at a nice lodge on the Rufiji River and then went camping, which was quite adventurous. We saw many animals and some of the most beautiful landscapes.

A Thrilling and Exciting Easter Weekend - My husband and I had great week of exploring the expansive Selous National Park with guide Otto of Gecko Adventure Tanzania. Otto made the tour fun and enjoyable as he knew all the right spots to visit and we rarely went for more than 15 minutes without something interesting to see. We also loved the boat trip on the Rufiji River where we had an awesome afternoon exploring the parts of the park that cannot be reached by car. There were numerous animals along and within the river. Camping was fun and added excitement and thrill of the overall experience. We will be doing this again soon.

Beautiful Experience - We have been on couple of safaris to the other parts of Tanzania and finally we found a reliable operator to take us to Selous. Booking with Rama was smooth as he was there to advise and guide us all times. We flew from Dar to Selous and found Otto waiting for us. He is a charming guy, very professional and knows that park like his own backyard. We saw lots of different animals and we loved the low traffic. We were by ourselves most of the times which made the experience lovely. We stayed in a lovely lodge which was by the banks of Rufiji River. Time passed too quickly and we were sad to leave Tanzania.

Amazing Place - Had we known how beautiful and pristine Selous is, we could have done this trip much earlier. We got to see numerous wildlife species and landscapes in the marshes and grasslands of Selous. We were lucky to have guide Malava accompany us. He made the trip fun with his excellent commentary and outstanding skills in tracking wildlife in the park. We loved the boat ride on Rufiji where the saw animals as we glided along the river. We are happy with the entire trip as it was well planned and the accommodation was really outstanding. We got to enjoy the diversity of Selous and Tanzania in earnest. I highly recommend this tour because Selous is really different and has not been commercialized as a destination and Gecko Adventure Tours did really well in organizing and executing it.

Great safari in Selous - We enjoyed the beautiful landscapes of Selous with guide Ally from Gecko Adventure Tanzania. Selous was different from the other parks we visited in Tanzania. There was little human traffic and mostly we had the place to ourselves. This made the game drives very intimate and we had all the time in the world to enjoy them. The boat trip along the Rifiji River is a must! The staff at the lodges we visited were welcoming and treated us really well. We absolutely loved the tour and had a great time.

Incredible Selous Adventure - We spent an amazing three days in Selous with guide Otto of Gecko Adventure Tanzania. This trip was just perfect and we definitely could have wished for a longer stay if it were possible. Otto was fantastic, he knew Selous well and he took us to many lovely spots where we could enjoy the wildlife without any other traffic. We took a boating safari along the Rufiji and its definitely one of the most interesting and wonderful things that we did on this trip. We enjoyed watching the abundant wildlife from the water particularly elephants, giraffes, many water birds, hippos, antelopes and many other animals. The campsite was fun and we had a great atmosphere that excited us, particularly the story time after dinner by the open campfire under the open skies. Sleeping under canvas with wild animals roaming in the nearby was so thrilling! I strongly recommend this trip and this operator they are amazing. If you are lucky to get guide Otto on this trip, you will create memories that will last you forever!!

Camping In Selous - What a romantic trip to Tanzania. Rama spoiled us silly with absolute perfection and excellence of service. We had three fantastic days with Otto exploring the massive park and then camping in the bush. Moses the assistant and cook was help was invaluable. He was responsible for the meals, and camp duty. The overall experience exceeds the 5 stars possible. It was so exciting sleeping under canvas with wildlife roaming not so far off. The constant hoove sounds as the animals went for a drink, the occasional roar and hyenas laughter was the night music. We had such an outstanding experience and it was all possible because of the great team from Gecko Adventure Tanzania.

The Week-long Safari Adventure In Selous Was Magical - We actually spent seven days in Tanzania exploring Selous and we still did not complete exploring all the areas in this huge park. We had one of the best guides ever... Otto. He is simply amazing, a patient individual whose efforts were always geared to keeping us happy and fulfilled. This was our second time in Tanzania and with Gecko Adventure Tanzania. We came back to them because they are committed to excellence, great service and have really good guides in their stable. I wish had that we had done Selous much earlier because it offers exclusivity and privacy unlike the the parks in the Northern circuit. There was so much to see! so much wildlife, amazing landscapes,ethereal sunsets and the aura was just magical. It was like living off a story book. It was amazing as we loved everything about the safari.
