Journey from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
African Pangolin Safaris - The journey begins with an early morning departure from Dar es Salaam at 5am, heading towards Mikumi National Park via Morogoro town. This scenic drive takes approximately 6 hours. Upon arrival, guests will enjoy lunch in Mikumi National Park before embarking on an afternoon game drive that lasts until sunset. Dinner and overnight accommodations are provided at the Tanapa Tourist Cottage, located within the park.
Mikumi was designated as a National Park in 1964 and is named after the spindle-shaped Borassus palm trees. The Mkata plain is home to large herds of plains game such as wildebeest, impala, zebra, and giraffe, which are preyed upon by their natural predators. In the surrounding less fertile hills, visitors are more likely to encounter elephants, buffalos, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, greater kudu, roan, and sable antelope.

Return from Mikumi National Park to Dar es Salaam
Mikumi National Park - Start the day with an early morning game drive in Mikumi National Park until 8:30 am, followed by breakfast back at the tourist cottage.
After breakfast, continue with the game drive until 11:00 am, then begin the return journey to Dar es Salaam, stopping in Morogoro town for a hot lunch. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, guests will be dropped off at their hotel or the airport for a late flight home or to another destination.
