Dambulla - Dambulla is a town located in the Matale District, Central Province of Sri Lanka, positioned 148 km northeast of Colombo, 43 km north of Matale, and 72 km north of Kandy. As a major junction, it serves as the country’s vegetable distribution hub. Accommodation is provided at a hotel in Dambulla.

Sigiriya The Ancient Rock Fortress - Constructed by King Kasyapa, Sigiriya rock is one of Sri Lanka’s five UNESCO World Heritage Sites and the most renowned tourist attraction. Perched atop a massive 200-meter-high rock, it is surrounded by the remnants of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. King Kassapa transformed his fortress into an ecological marvel with Royal Pleasure Gardens, Water Gardens, Fountain Gardens, Boulder Gardens, and Sigiri Apsaras.

Over 130 bird species are found here, including many of the 33 species endemic to Sri Lanka. The forest also boasts a rich reptile population and numerous insect species, many yet to be classified. Mammals seen here include the purple-faced langur monkey and the giant squirrel. Exploring Sinharaja on foot offers a truly authentic jungle experience.

Initially built in 1588 by the Portuguese, it was extensively fortified by the Dutch from 1649 onwards. The International Cricket Stadium Galle, near the fort, is considered one of the world’s most picturesque cricket grounds. The Galle Clock Tower, a popular landmark, overlooks the central Moon Bastion and was constructed in 1883. The Galle Lighthouse, Sri Lanka’s oldest light station, dates back to 1848.

Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - The Madu River is a wetland near the small town of Balapitiya. Experience the sunset while enjoying a boat ride on the Madu Ganga. This wetland covers over 900 hectares, mostly water. There are 64 islands in the Madu Ganga. The tour lasts around 2 to 3 hours. During the boat ride, you’ll see vast mangrove forests along the riverbanks. Boats pass through short tunnels formed by mangroves. Many birds and animals inhabit this aquatic environment.
