Damajagua Waterfalls is a solid 5/5, must-do experience for active couples and families - Damajagua Adventure: Waterfalls and Canyoneering (2/19 Thu.) Noiami - was our upbeat, cute transportation guide/DJ Carlos (?) - was very efficient, and made driving a bus in the Dominican Republic seem fluid and easy. Manuel - our Damajagua Leader Berni ‘Mac’ - fauna/flora expert, bird-call impersonator, and lead guide Dave - photographer/‘Paparazzi’ Manuel and Berni kept our group moving and together at a comfortable pace throughout our waterfall adventure. Weaving back and forth between the group, the duo kept conversations light and enthusiastic. Berni educated and entertained us with his knowledge of local floral (Soursop, bananas and plantains, etc) and impressive animal-/bird-calls. Manuel presented information about local populations and affects of the weather upon the Damajagua National Park (diminished rainfall over the last eight years had noticeable reduced the water-level pf the falls). Dave intermingled throughout our group snapping pictures of us all (we purchased a ‘thumb-drive’ of our excursion afterwards). The aid-station, and awaiting ‘donkey-ambulances’ were not utilized by any of us, but it was reassuring to know that if needed, we would be taken care of. The buffet lunch was a welcome surprise; salad two types of rice, yucca, jerked-chicken, and lightly-grilled fish. Everyone was kind and positive/happy; we had a great time! After our adventure, our only regret was that we were not able to return again to experience another waterfall adventure with Manuel and Berni, and Dave!

Our taxi was very late... - Our taxi was very late picking us up, first time on a cruise for us, the ship will not wait. Everyone in our taxi was also on a ship and freaked everyone out. Barely made it back in time
