Invaluable experience we will never forget! - This really IS a private tour! Mat met us at our hotel, and steered us deftly via public transit to Dachau in pouring rain. His depth of understanding of the camp, the town, and world circumstances that all led to the horrific tragedy of WWII and the network of concentration camps is vast. We’re old enough that we had friends growing up who were holocaust survivors, and have visited holocaust memorials in several countries in Europe, so we had some working context ourselves. The beauty of this sort of truly personal experience is that your guide isn’t just talking all the time, really it’s a conversation that goes places you’d never anticipate. We were fortunate to be there one day after the 80th anniversary of the liberation. Somehow the rain and cold only served to reinforce our understanding of the brutal conditions experienced by the prisoners. It was heartening to see huge crowds of school groups there (teens, which made sense to us). It’s going to take a while to truly process all we’ve learned in a few short hours. We can’t recommend this tour and Mat highly enough!

Patiently and passionately elaborated on the exhibits and key features at the memorial site. Was most generous in sharing his insights and interesting nuggets of historical information. Done in the most respectful and solemn manner in honour of the victims of Dachau Definitely learned a great deal from this tour. So much sorrow in this place and a grim reminder that we should never ever allow such atrocities to happen again. Will highly recommend P.S. Mat even knows exactly where to wait at the bus stop, so that you'll be right smack where the door is for easy hop on to the crowded buses. Great tour guide - Our tour guide was Mat, he was on time and accommodated us with our meeting place. He escorted us to the tour site. He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions.
