Journey from Cusco to the Hike Starting Point: The trip will proceed directly from Cusco to the trailhead in a comfortable private vehicle, taking approximately 3 hours. As the tour starts later in the morning, it is advisable to have breakfast at your hotel before departure. • Vinicunca Mountain - The Hike: Upon arrival at the trailhead near Chillihuani, the ascent to Rainbow Mountain will commence, taking about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The trail passes through colorful valleys and rivers, offering breathtaking views along the way. At the summit, you will reach the foothills of Red Valley, the gateway to the stunning 7 color mountain, where your guide will explain the geological formation and cultural significance of this sacred site. As you trek along the trail, the scenery will gradually transform into vibrant mountains and babbling streams, breathing life into the valley. If the trek proves challenging, horse rentals from villagers are available for approximately 70 soles.
