In the early morning, at 3:45 am, the operator will pick up participants and transport them to “Cusipata Village.” The journey includes a hike through villages, offering opportunities to engage with local residents. In the early morning, at 3:45 am, the operator will pick up participants and transport them to “Cusipata Village.” The journey includes a hike through villages, offering opportunities to engage with local residents. Along the trail, participants will experience traditional elements of the trek, such as potato fields and local fauna. There is a chance to spot chinchillas and vicuñas, the latter being the only wild member of the llama family in Peru. The hike also features many red mountains, which are a highlight of this section. After approximately 3 hours of hiking, the group will reach the destination: the stunning Rainbow Mountains (5,020 m / 16,466 ft). Participants will have time to explore, take photographs, and spend about an hour at the summit. Following this, the group will descend to enjoy lunch. The day concludes with a 3-hour drive back to Cusco, with drop-off at the hotel. The estimated arrival time is between 5:00 and 6:00 pm.
