Amazing experience, Rogello is the best - It was an incredible experience. Taking the atv up to Vinicunca really helped with the altitude sickness, we beat most of the crowds to take good photos, the atv rides to see the Andes mountains was really fun. Rogello was an excellent guide that's good at speaking english who told us lots of fun facts. I would highly recommend this tour

Thank you Rogelio! - Rogelio made the entire experience unforgettable! The breakfast was fantastic, with places to buy gloves, leg warmers, and sweaters because it’s colder than whatever you think it’s going to be. We then took ATVs up the scenic mountain, with the option to either take one yourself or share with a buddy. There is an entrance fee of 25PEN. We then got taken up the rest of the way by local motorcyclists for another 30PEN (they are very fast). After riding with a motorcyclist, we finally reached the last steep, snowy section where we hiked ourselves. Rogelio was fantastic in making sure everyone was safe, made suggestions for a better view, and even took photos. He also helped two people down the mountain, whether it was slippery from snow or another party member had a bad knee. Going back on the ATVs, we had a gorgeous ride to Mirador Ausangate where there was nobody around us. When one party member had an issue with his ATV, he was quick to make sure he was safe and get unstuck. We then went back to the same spot for lunch, which was again delicious. All in all, we would definitely recommend this exact itinerary, as it was safe, educational, relatively easy, and had beautiful views!

An amazing day trip - We have a wonderful day trip yo Rainbow mountain. Our tour guide CUTIPA take good care of us. Well organized. Well knowledge. We all take the ATV there then a motorbike, trust me, it is worth it to pay. Save more energy to get up to the mountain.. we all back down. We all can manage it with such high altitude. Thank you so much.

Worth experiencing - This experience was super fun. Amazing bus ride, followed by an ATV experience at such an altitude. Eduardo was very good in organising everything quickly and in a timely fashion. Icing was that they dropped us back to the pick up place.

Fantastic Rainbow Mountain Tour - We don't know where to begin. What a great experience We chose the ATV and the back of a motorcycle adventure. What a fun way to get within a short hike's distance to a magnificent view of Rainbow Mountain. Our guide Edgar was wonderful. He constantly checked on us to make sure we were doing well with the altitude. We also got to extend our ATV tour to see the majestic Mirador Ausangate. Awesome. A really great trip!!

We had a wonderful time... - We had a wonderful time on this tour. Our guide Edgar and driver Marco was so attentive. They communicated and was exactly on time for the pickup. When we arrived at the ATVs, Edgar made sure that everyone could safely handle the ATV or have them go with a partner. We took motorbikes up and walked to the viewpoint. Such an amazing experience

If traveling during the... - We couldn’t be happier with this excursion. Out tour guide Edgar was so awesome. Tons of value with this purchase. We would highly recommend this excursion.
There are additional costs associated with this excursion, 60 Soles per person to get a ride to the top of the mountain and back down on a motorcycle. If you do want to skip taking a motorcycle to the top and back down, bring comfortable walking boots because it’s a 75 minute walk up, and a 60 minute walk down.
If traveling during the dry season, bring warm clothing and a good pair of outdoor boots. Prepare for the possibility of high elevation sickness.

Wrong tour for us... but it might be right for you - We did not love this tour, but we acknowledge that largely came down to a mismatch of expectations. We are not ATVers, or really the type of people who are into extreme sports. We booked this tour because my husband is very altitude sensitive, and I wanted to go to Rainbow Mountain without a lot of actual hiking.
This was a mistake on our part - turns out, you ATV on this tour to the spot where every other tour bus parks. Then, you have to pay extra for a motorcycle to take you to the top. That's fine, but we would have just bussed to that spot if we had known that's how the other tours worked.
Though the ATVs weren't for us personally, the tour did build in time at the end to take them out for an extended ride and a photo opp in front of a nearby snowcapped mountain. For what it's worth, the other tour guests seemed to be having a blast.
I will say, we didn't love the van. We seem to have paid much more than most other tours to Rainbow Mountain (presumably due to the ATVs). However, our van was pretty uncomfortable and you spend 4-6 hours in it. While other tours were in tour busses, I think our vehicle was more akin to a mini van. This would have been okay, but they booked 5 guests, a driver, and a guide, into a van with 6 regular seats and 3 small middle seats. The van did not seem to have AC and the windows didn't seem to be treated. On the way there it was freezing cold and we couldn't see out of the windows because there was so much condensation (a bummer to not see the views you booked the tour for) and on the way back it was very hot with the sun beating in.
I did find myself frustrated with the lack of communication from the tour company. We had booked and completed several other tours at this point in our trip, and the communication from this company was by far the worst. Other companies usually send a confirmation, pick up time, final guidance/tips, etc. We got nothing from this company - I finally reached out 18 hours before departure time to ask if they would picking us up, if they had the hotel address, if the breakfast and lunch could accommodate food allergies, etc. Though they did respond, they didn't initially answer all my questions. They ended up sending me last-minute guidance about 7 hours before our 4 am departure with information about what to pack and letting us know we needed to have about s/.100 in cash for entrance into Rainbow Mountain and for the separate motorcycle ride to the top. We were already packed and luckily had enough cash, but it was very last minute if we had needed to pick up cash or adjust our packing.
Also, when we returned to Cusco after the tour, they did not drop us off at our hotel the way they had dropped other guests off. They had us get out on the Plaza Mayor (at the bottom of the hill from our hotel) and we watched as they drove away up the hill we needed to walk up to get to our hotel.
